g. Duties.<br />

(1) WO1/CW2 must—<br />

(a) Manages EW/I equipment maintenance activities at organizational,<br />

direct support, <strong>and</strong> general support levels.<br />

(b) Manages the EW/I maintenance training program, the prescribed<br />

load list, repair parts stockpile levels, <strong>and</strong> the essential repair<br />

parts stockage list (ERPSL).<br />

(c) Manages <strong>and</strong> supervises maintenance <strong>and</strong> supply personnel.<br />

(d) Manages the Equipment Improvement Report (EIR) Program<br />

<strong>and</strong> Quality Assurance (QA) Program.<br />

(e) Monitors the modification work order program <strong>and</strong> ensures<br />

the work is completed.<br />

(f) Monitors maintenance requests <strong>and</strong> the maintenance request<br />

register.<br />

(g) Monitors supply/parts requisitions <strong>and</strong> the document register.<br />

(h) Monitors historical records as required. Assists in the preparation<br />

of/or prepares the material readiness report.<br />

(i) Writes/revises the st<strong>and</strong>ing operating procedures (SOP).<br />

(j) Establishes workload procedures.<br />

(2) CW3 must—<br />

(a) Performs duties described in paragraph g(1).<br />

(b) Serves as an EW/I maintenance officer in aerial exploitation<br />

b a t t a l i o n s , m a i n t e n a n c e a s s i s t a n c e a n d i n s t r u c t i o n t e a m ( M A I T )<br />

chief, <strong>and</strong> as a service school chief instructor.<br />

(3) CW4 performs duties described in paragraph g(2).<br />

(4) CW5 must—<br />

(a) Performs duties described in paragraph g(3).<br />

(b) Advises the comm<strong>and</strong>er <strong>and</strong> staff of overall maintenance operations<br />

<strong>and</strong> support requirements for mission equipment.<br />

(c) Plans, coordinates, <strong>and</strong> manages the installation maintenance<br />

training of all intercept systems.<br />

(d) Manages the overall maintenance effort.<br />

h. Grading <strong>and</strong> position titles. Authorized position titles are provided<br />

in tables 6-2 <strong>and</strong> 6-3. The following grades are used to code<br />

positions into one of four definable skill levels: W2 equals WO1/<br />

CW2; W3 equals CW3; W4 equals CW4; <strong>and</strong> W5 equals CW5. The<br />

grades are listed in the following st<strong>and</strong>ards of grade tables:<br />

(1) Table 8-353A-1. St<strong>and</strong>ards of grade TOE/MTOE.<br />

(2) Table 8-353A-2. St<strong>and</strong>ards of grade TDA.<br />

8–63. Branch 42—Adjutant General<br />

(Proponent: Adjutant General School) Manages <strong>Army</strong> military personnel<br />

systems <strong>and</strong> <strong>Army</strong> b<strong>and</strong>s. Supports the <strong>Army</strong> mission at all<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> levels through system design, development <strong>and</strong> operation.<br />

Develops system refinements to meet present <strong>and</strong> future mission<br />

requirements. Applies <strong>Army</strong> policy <strong>and</strong> procedural doctrine. Designs<br />

<strong>and</strong> develops force structure.<br />

8–64. Area of Concentration 420—Personnel<br />

There are two warrant officer specialties within this AOC. The skills<br />

<strong>and</strong> knowledge required to qualify for these specialties are those<br />

necessary to manage <strong>Army</strong> military personnel systems <strong>and</strong> <strong>Army</strong><br />

b<strong>and</strong>s.<br />

8–65. <strong>Military</strong> <strong>Occupational</strong> Specialty 420A—<strong>Military</strong><br />

Personnel Technician<br />

a. Licensing/certification requirement. None.<br />

b. Prerequisites. DA Circular 601 series.<br />

c. MOS 420A. MOS 420A is an accession MOS. The enlisted<br />

feeder MOSs are those in the MOS 75 series.<br />

d. Associated SQI.<br />

(1) 0—No special qualifications.<br />

(2) 7—Parachutist.<br />

(3) 8—Instructor.<br />

(5) Z—Research, Development, Test, <strong>and</strong> Evaluation Technician.<br />

f. Qualifications.<br />

(1) WO1/CW2 must—<br />

Basic Course.<br />

SECRET.<br />

(2) CW3 must—<br />

(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(1).<br />

(b) Complete the <strong>Military</strong> Personnel Technician Warrant Officer<br />

Advance Course.<br />

(3) CW4 must—<br />

(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(2).<br />

(b) Complete the Warrant Officer Staff Course (WOSC).<br />

(4) CW5 must—<br />

(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(3).<br />

(b) Complete the Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course (WOSSC).<br />

g. Duties.<br />

(1) WO1/CW2 must—<br />

(a) Manage the personnel readiness management system at assigned<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> level.<br />

(b) Manage the personnel information management system at assigned<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> level.<br />

(c) Manage the personnel accounting <strong>and</strong> strength reporting system<br />

at assigned comm<strong>and</strong> level.<br />

(d) Manage the casualty information management system at assigned<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> level.<br />

(e) Manage the personnel replacement system at assigned comm<strong>and</strong><br />

level.<br />

(f) Manage the awards <strong>and</strong> decorations program at assigned comm<strong>and</strong><br />

level.<br />

(g) Manage the military personnel evaluations systems at assigned<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> level.<br />

(h) Manage the officer <strong>and</strong> enlisted promotion systems at assigned<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> level.<br />

( i ) M a n a g e t h e i d e n t i f i c a t i o n d o c u m e n t s c o n t r o l a n d i s s u a n c e<br />

function at assigned comm<strong>and</strong> level.<br />

(j) Monitor <strong>and</strong> serve as functional proponent for the leaves <strong>and</strong><br />

passes program at assigned comm<strong>and</strong> level.<br />

(k) Manage the line of duty investigation program at assigned<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> level.<br />

(l) Manage the officer procurement program at assigned comm<strong>and</strong><br />

leve.<br />

(m) Manage the officer <strong>and</strong> enlisted transfer <strong>and</strong> separation programs<br />

at assigned comm<strong>and</strong> level.<br />

( n ) M a n a g e t h e p e r s o n n e l a s p e c t s o f t h e s o l d i e r r e a d i n e s s<br />

program.<br />

(o) Manage the processing of miscellaneous soldier generated<br />

personnel actions.<br />

(2) CW3 must—<br />

(a) Performs duties described in paragraph g(1).<br />

(b) Performs warrant officer duties at higher comm<strong>and</strong> levels.<br />

(c) Performs personnel staff officer duties in TOE units <strong>and</strong> on<br />

major comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> major subordinate comm<strong>and</strong> staffs.<br />

(3) CW4 must—<br />

(a) Performs duties described in paragraph g(2).<br />

(b) Performs personnel duties at the Combined Arms Comm<strong>and</strong>,<br />

U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Recruiting Comm<strong>and</strong>, <strong>and</strong> the U.S. Total <strong>Army</strong> Personnel<br />

Comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

(4) CW5 must—<br />

(a) Performs duties described in paragraph g(3).<br />

(b) Performs personnel duties at MACOM, U.S. Total Personnel<br />

Comm<strong>and</strong>, <strong>and</strong> the Warrant Officer Career Center.<br />

h. Grading <strong>and</strong> position titles. Authorized position titles are provided<br />

in tables 6-2 <strong>and</strong> 6-3. The following grades are used to code<br />
