f. Qualifications.<br />

(1) WO1/CW2 must—<br />

( a ) B e a U . S . c i t i z e n . Q u a l i f y f o r a s e c u r i t y c l e a r a n c e o f<br />

SECRET.<br />

(b) Meet medical qualifications.<br />

1. The medical examination requirements in AR 40-501 must be<br />

met.<br />

2. Class IIA medical st<strong>and</strong>ards must be maintained while on<br />

noncrewmember flight status.<br />

(c) Maintain height <strong>and</strong> weight st<strong>and</strong>ards per AR 600-9 <strong>and</strong> AR<br />

40-501.<br />

(d) Successfully complete the Aviation Maintenance Warrant Officer<br />

Technical Certification Course.<br />

(e) Be commissioned upon promotion to CW2.<br />

(2) CW3 must—<br />

(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(1) above.<br />

( b ) S u c c e s s f u l l y c o m p l e t e t h e A v i a t i o n W a r r a n t O f f i c e r A d -<br />

vanced Course (AVWOAC).<br />

(3) CW4 must—<br />

( a ) M e e t q u a l i f i c a t i o n s d e s c r i b e d i n p a r a g r a p h f ( 1 ) a n d f ( 2 )<br />

above.<br />

( b ) S u c c e s s f u l l y c o m p l e t e t h e W a r r a n t O f f i c e r S t a f f C o u r s e<br />

(WOSC).<br />

(4) CW5 must—<br />

(a) Meet qualifications listed in paragraph f(1), f(2), <strong>and</strong> f(3)<br />

above.<br />

(b) Successfully complete WOSSC.<br />

g. Duties.<br />

(1) WO1/CW2—<br />

(a) Manages aircraft maintenance based on a thorough knowle<br />

d g e o f a i r c r a f t m a i n t e n a n c e r e q u i r e m e n t s f o r f o r p o w e r p l a n t s ,<br />

power trains, electrical systems, avionics, armament systems, mechanics<br />

<strong>and</strong> pneudraulics.<br />

(b) Manages removal, disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly,<br />

installation, maintenance operational checks <strong>and</strong> adjustments of aircraft<br />

structures, components <strong>and</strong> subsystems.<br />

(c) Manages the maintenance of technical publication libraries.<br />

(d) Ensures compliance with regulations governing forms, records<br />

<strong>and</strong> reports pertaining to aircraft maintenance.<br />

(e) Manages aircraft repair parts <strong>and</strong> supply procedures.<br />

(f) Directs the development of aircraft repair parts <strong>and</strong> spares<br />

stockage levels to ensure mission accomplishment <strong>and</strong> sustainment.<br />

(g) Directs the use of tools, measuring, <strong>and</strong> diagnostic equipment<br />

to isolate faults in aircraft systems <strong>and</strong> subsystems.<br />

(h) Ensures quality control procedures are observed during aviation<br />

maintenance.<br />

(i) Directs use of computer systems <strong>and</strong> software for maintenance<br />

<strong>and</strong> supply requesting, reporting <strong>and</strong> management.<br />

( 2 ) C W 3 — P e r f o r m s d u t i e s d e s c r i b e d i n p a r a g r a p h g ( 1 ) ( a )<br />

through (i) above.<br />

(3) CW4—<br />

(a) Performs duties described in paragraph g(2) above.<br />

(b) As a AVIM battalion aviation materiel officer monitors <strong>and</strong><br />

evaluates aircraft maintenance operations, processes <strong>and</strong> procedures,<br />

<strong>and</strong> aviation materiel readiness status. Provides guidance <strong>and</strong> technical<br />

input to subordinate aviation maintenance elements <strong>and</strong> other<br />

staff elements.<br />

maintenance.<br />

(d) Provides technical advice to allied services using U.S. <strong>Army</strong><br />

aircraft.<br />

(e) Performs duties pertaining to resource management <strong>and</strong> aircraft<br />

procurement activities.<br />

(4) CW5—<br />

(a) Performs duties described in paragraph g(3)(a) through (e)<br />

above.<br />

(b) Provides guidance <strong>and</strong> technical input to subordinate aviation<br />

maintenance elements <strong>and</strong> other staff elements <strong>and</strong> comm<strong>and</strong>ers at<br />

all levels.<br />

h. Grading <strong>and</strong> position titles. Authorized position titles are provided<br />

in tables 6-2 <strong>and</strong> 6-3. The following grades are used to code<br />

positions into one of four definable skill levels: W2 equals WO1/<br />

CW2; W3 equals CW3; W4 equals CW4; <strong>and</strong> W5 equals CW5. The<br />

grades are listed in the following st<strong>and</strong>ards of grade tables:<br />

(1) Table 8-151A-1. St<strong>and</strong>ards of grade TOE/MTOE.<br />

(2) Table 8-151A-2. St<strong>and</strong>ards of grade TDA.<br />

8–18. Area of Concentration 152—Rotary Wing Attack/<br />

Scout<br />

Pilots <strong>and</strong> comm<strong>and</strong>s attack <strong>and</strong> scout helicopters under tactical <strong>and</strong><br />

nontactical conditions. Operates aircraft during all types of meteorological<br />

conditions during day or night. Responsible for coordinating,<br />

conducting, <strong>and</strong> directing combat attack/scout helicopter operations,<br />

joint air attack team operations <strong>and</strong> indirect fire missions. Participates<br />

in anti-armor operations, reconnaissance missions, security<br />

missions, <strong>and</strong> combat maneuver operations. Functions as a direct<br />

c o m b a t p a r t i c i p a n t w i t h o r g a n i c a r m a m e n t s y s t e m s . M a i n t a i n s<br />

aircrew training manual (ATM) requirements in appropriate aircraft.<br />

8–19. <strong>Military</strong> <strong>Occupational</strong> Specialties<br />

MOS 152B—OH-58A/C Scout Pilot; 152C—OH-6 Pilot; 152D—<br />

OH-58D Pilot; 152F—AH-64 Attack Pilot; 152G—AH-1 Attack<br />

Pilot.<br />

a. Licensing/certification requirements. None.<br />

b. Prerequisites. DA Cir 601 series.<br />

c. MOS. MOS 152C, 152D, <strong>and</strong> 152F are nonaccession MOS.<br />

MOS 152B is an accession MOS with all enlisted MOS performing<br />

as feeder MOS. MOS 152B, 152D, 152F <strong>and</strong> 152G may be substituted<br />

for MOS 153A CW5 positions at the brigade <strong>and</strong> higher<br />

staff level.<br />

d. Associated SQI.<br />

(1) 0—No special qualifications.<br />
