f. Qualifications.
(1) WO1/CW2 must—
(a) Complete the FAAD Systems Warrant Officer Basic Course.
( b ) B e a U . S . c i t i z e n . Q u a l i f y f o r a s e c u r i t y c l e a r a n c e o f
SECRET.
(c) Have normal vision correctable to 20/20; full use of both
hands; have normal hearing per AR 40-501.
( d ) H a v e a p h y s i c a l p r o f i l e t o a l l o w a s s i g n m e n t t o r e m o t e
locations.
(2) CW3 must—
(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(1).
(b) Complete both phases of the Warrant Advanced Course for
CW2 (P) or CW3.
(3) CW4 must—
(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(2).
( b ) C o m p l e t e t h e W a r r a n t O f f i c e r S t a f f C o u r s e ( W O S C ) f o r
CW3(P) or CW4.
(4) CW5 must—
(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(3).
(b) Complete the WOSSC.
g. Duties.
(1) WO1/CW2—
(a) Coordinate the activities of maintenance personnel equipment,
and site assets for the installation, repair, maintenance, and modification
of the Army Air Defense Artillery FAAD Systems, ancillary
equipment, and tools.
(b) Plan, organize, implement, monitor, and evaluate operations
and unit maintenance, of the FAAD weapon system.
(c) Advise the commander on march order and emplacement of
the FAAD system.
(d) Develop and implement maintenance standard operating procedure
(SOP).
(e) Evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance programs and operator
training.
(f) Advise and instruct maintenance personnel on adjustments,
repair operations, and isolation procedures.
(g) Monitor and coordinate installation of modifications on the
FAAD system.
( h ) A d v i s e c o m m a n d e r o n F A A D s y s t e m c a p a b i l i t i e s a n d
limitations.
(i) Implement proper safety and security procedures applicable to
the maintenance support of the FAAD system.
( j ) O v e r s e e T h e A r m y M a i n t e n a n c e M a n a g e m e n t S y s t e m
(TAMMS).
(k) Supervise maintenance of unit Prescribed Load List (PLL).
(2) CW3—
(a) Performs duties as described in paragraph g(1).
( b ) P r o v i d e t e c h n i c a l g u i d a n c e a n d d i r e c t i o n t o s u b o r d i n a t e
elements.
(c) Advise the commander or staff officers on the FAAD system
capabilities and limitations.
( d ) E v a l u a t e s , t r a i n s a n d v a l i d a t e s u n i t r e a d i n e s s f o r t h e
commander.
(3) CW4—
(a) Perform duties as described in paragraph g(2).
(b) Perform in contract management and budgeting.
(c) Serve as Project Manager on New/Improved FAAD weapon
system fielding.
(d) Provide leadership, guidance, technical input, and direction to
subordinate elements, staff agencies, and field commanders up to
and including theater level.
(4) CW5—
(a) Perform duties described in paragraph g(3).
(b) Develop, review and update the life cycle management of
ADA warrant officers.
(c) Advise the Commandant and Assistant Commandant at the
DA PAM 611–21 • 31 March 1999
Army Air Defense School Artillery on all matters pertaining to
ADA warrant officers.
h. Grading and position titles. Authorized position titles are provided
in appendixes B and C. The following grades are used to code
positions into one of four definable skill levels: W2 equals WO1/
CW2; W3 equals CW3; W4 equals CW4; and W5 equals CW5. The
grades are listed in the following standards of grade tables:
(1) Table 8-140B-1. Standards of grade TOE/MTOE.
(2) Table 8-140B-2. Standards of grade N/A.
8–11. Military Occupational Specialty 140D—HAWK
Systems Technician (Reserve Component only)
a. Licensing/certification requirement. None.
b. Prerequisites. DA Cir 601 series.
c. MOS 140D. MOS 140D is an accession MOS. The enlisted
feeder MOSs are 24K, 27H, and 27K.
d. Associated SQI.
(1) 0—No special qualifications.
(2) 7—Parachutist.
(3) 8—Instructor.
(4) T—Transition (personnel only).
(5) Z—Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation Technician.

f. Qualifications.

(a) Complete the HAWK Warrant Officer Basic Course.

(c) Have normal vision correctable to 20/20; normal color discrimination;
full use of both hands; and have normal hearing per AR
40-501.
(d) Have a physical profile that allows assignment to remote
locations.
(2) CW3 must—
(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(1).

Course for CW2(P) or CW3.
(3) CW4 must—
(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(2).
