attribute to Christ the need to resist an<br />

"inclination" that was a powerful incentive<br />

Yes, she does, specifically:<br />

Christ was put to the closest test, requiring the<br />

strength of all His faculties to resist the inclination<br />

when in danger, to use His power to deliver<br />

Himself from peril, and triumph over the power of<br />

the prince of darkness (7BC 930).<br />

(a) If Christ had yielded to this "inclination,"<br />

the yielding would have been sin. <strong>The</strong> problem He<br />

faced was clearly "danger." <strong>The</strong> "inclination" He<br />

wrestled with was to escape danger. If He had<br />

yielded, He would have refused the cross, just what<br />

Satan wanted Him to do. And if Christ had refused<br />
