righteousness by faith is the "third angel's<br />

message in verity" would have to be<br />

abandoned, for "the faith of Jesus" that the third<br />

angel calls for would cease to exist if Christ<br />

took a sinless nature with only the sinless<br />

infirmities of our weakened physical organism.<br />

Adam did not have faith nor did he need it in<br />

his sinless state.<br />

(e) In an effort to show that Ellen White did not<br />

give them "a blank check in theological matters,"<br />

one writer cites three of her statements: their<br />

position was not "perfect" in 1886; "some things<br />

presented in reference to the law in Galatians ... do<br />

not harmonize with the understanding I have had of<br />

this subject," and "some interpretations of Scripture<br />

given by Dr. Waggoner I do not regard as correct"<br />

(Ms. 15,1888). This sounds like we have a "blank<br />

check" for disregarding anything of their message<br />

we may not like. But the contextual evidence gives<br />

quite a different impression. As to whether or not<br />

they were ever "perfect" is irrelevant to the<br />
