idea is a carryover from Platonism. Here we have<br />

an excusing of sin in all who are by nature "sinladen<br />

humanity"! That was not Paul's intention in<br />

his use of "separate" in Hebrews 7:26.<br />

<strong>The</strong> phrase "Christ's righteousness" denotes the<br />

victory of His holiness in conflict with temptation<br />

to sin, as we are tempted. If in any way He must be<br />

insulated from the struggle as we must face it, to<br />

that extent there has to be a "broken link" in His<br />

righteousness. <strong>The</strong>re is no contradiction in the<br />

Bible regarding the humanity of Christ, because<br />

Luke's proleptic concept of His holiness as an<br />

infant is fulfilled by His righteousness manifested<br />

in His perfect life, even to His death of the cross.<br />

And that involved a victorious but terrible conflict<br />

with temptation to sin.<br />
