ÇRÉ NITYÄNANDA CARITÄMÅTA
prabhu bale çunaha sakala bhaktagaëa
nityänanda pädodara karaha prahaëa
karilehi mätra ei padodaka päna
kåñëa dåö bhakata haya ithe nähi äna
Çré Gauräìga continued, “Listen, My dear devotees.
All of you drink the water that has washed Nityänanda’s
lotus feet. Just by drinking that water, one will attain unflinching
devotion to Kåñëa. There is no doubt of this.”
Being thus, instructed by the Lord, all the devotees washed
the lotus feet of Lord Nityänanda and drank the water with
great respect. In fact, every devotee drank the water five or seven
times. Nityänanda Prabhu was, however, completely lost in
an ecstatic trance as He continued to laugh.
Mahäprabhu Çré Gauräìga personally distributed the caraëämåta
of Lord Nityänanda with great jubilation. After drinking
the water, all the devotees became mad with ecstasy and
loudly chanted, “Hari, Hari.”
“Today my life has become successful,” someone said.
“Today I have become a servant of Kåñëa,” said another
person.
“Today has been a very auspicious day for me,” someone
else said.
“The water that washed the lotus feet of Nityänanda is very
tasty,” said still another person. “In fact, the sweetness in my
mouth does not diminish at all.”
What a wonderful influence the caraëämåta of Lord
Nityänanda has! As soon as the devotees drank it, they became
agitated, being infused with love of God. They danced,
sang, rolled on the ground, and chanted the holy name of the
Lord very loudly. They thus performed näma-saìkértana, overwhelmed
with ecstasy while dancing in great jubilation.
Soon Çré Gauracandra rose and began to dance very wonderfully.
Instantly, Nityänanda got up and joined Mahäprabhu.
Both the Lords began to dance all around the devotees. In great
jubilation, one devotee fell upon another, while still another
caught him in his arms. A devotee tried to take the dust of an-
