Çrémän Mahäprabhu Glorifies Lord Nityänanda
After saying this, the Lord took a kaupéna from Lord
Nityänanda and tore it into small pieces. He distributed
those pieces of Nityänanda Prabhu’s kaupéna to all the
Vaiñëavas.
prabhu bale e vastra vändhana çire
anyera ki däya ihä väïche yogeçvare
nityänanda prasäde se haya viñëu-bhakti
jäniha kåñëera nityänanda pürëa çakti
krñëera dutéya nityänanda bai nähi
saìgé-sadhä nityänanda caritra
sarva jéva janaka rakñaka sarva mitra
ihäna vyabhära sava kåñëa rasamaya
ihäna sebile kåñëa premabhakti haya
bhakti kari ihäna kaigéra väïchä çire
mahäyatre ihä püjä kara giyäghare
Lord Caitanya then said to all the Vaiñëavas, “All
of you tie this piece of cloth around your heads. What
to speak of Vaiñëavas, even masters of mystic perfection
desire this piece of kaupéna. One can attain devotional
service to Lord Viñëu only by the mercy of Nityänanda.
Know that Nityänanda possesses the complete potency of
the Supreme Lord. There is no one dearer to Kåñëa then
Nityänanda. He eternally serves Kåñëa as a companion,
bed, ornament, associate, and brother. The qualities of
Nityänanda are incomprehensible even to the Vedas. He
is the father, protector, and friend of all living entities.
His dealings are full of the transcendental mellows of
love for Kåñëa.
“If one serves Nityänanda, he will attain loving devotional
service to Kåñëa without a doubt. All of you
should tie this piece of Nityänanda’s kaupéna around
your head with devotion. You should worship this piece
of cloth in your homes with great respect.”
Receiving the order of the Lord, all the devotees respectfully
tied the pieces of kaupéna around their heads.
