ÇRÉ NITYÄNANDA CARITÄMÅTA
Sometimes, Nityänanda would fall down unconscious in
ecstasy and remain in this state for three or four days. In this
way, He enjoyed countless inconceivable pastimes. I could not
describe them all, even if I possessed millions of mouths.
One day, by the will of providence, Nityänanda Prabhu arrived
where Viçvambhara was sitting. He was naked and smiling
and tears of love were streaming from His eyes. He repeatedly
shouted, “Nimäi Paëòita of Nadia is my life and soul.”
Seeing Nityänanda’s enchanting and radiant naked form,
Çré Gauräìga began to smile. He quickly took off the cloth that
was tied around His head and put it on Nityänanda Prabhu.
Nityänanda simply laughed. The Lord personally smeared sandalwood
paste over the body of Nityänanda and then placed a
flower garland around His neck.
Çré Gauräìga then put Nityänanda in front of Him and
began offering prayers as the devotees listened attentively. He
prayed to Lord Nityänanda,
name nityänanda tumi rüpe nityänanda
ei tumi nityänanda-räma murtimanta
nityänanda paryyaöana bhojana vyavahära
nityänanda bine kichu nähika tomära
tomäre bhujite çakté maëusyera kothä?
parama susatya tumi yathä kåñëa tathä
“Your name is Nityänanda, and Your form is
Nityänanda. You are indeed the abode of eternal
bliss, nondifferent from Balaräma. You wander to
the holy places. Your pastimes of accepting food are
filled with eternal bliss. Who has the power to understand
You? You are the Supreme Absolute Truth
and are as good as Lord Kåñëa.”
Most magnanimous Nityänanda was completely absorbed in
the mellows of love for Çré Caitanya. Lord Caitanya wholly approved
of whatever He said and did.
Once, Çré Gauräìga asked Nityänanda, “Please give Me one
of Your kaupénas. I have a desire to keep it.”
