ÇRÉ NITYÄNANDA CARITÄMÅTA
As the two Lords sat together to have Their lunch, all were
reminded of Çré Räma and Lakñmaëa eating together at the
house of Kauçalyä. They thus began eating together with loving
exchanges just like in Their former pastimes. Mother Çacé happily
served Them Their food.
Suddenly, the two plates of food became three plates right in
front of her eyes. At this, the two Lords began to smile. Mother
Çacé then went and brought more food. However, instead of the
two Lords, she found two small boys no more than five years of
age sitting together. She saw two exceedingly attractive boys,
one having a blackish complexion and the other very fair. Both
were four-handed and naked. They held a conch, disc, club, lotus,
plough, and stick. They were decorated with the mark of
Çrévatsa and the Kaustubha gem, and wore shark-shaped earrings.
Mother Çacé saw her daughter-in-law within the heart of
her son. Then, all of a sudden, she could not see anything as she
fell unconscious to the floor. Her entire body and clothes had
become wet due to her tears of love. The rice she was carrying
scattered all over the room.
used to call him Baòäi. He was born in a brähmaëa family and took
initiation from Advaita Äcärya. When he expressed his desire to
serve Advaita Prabhu, He sent him to the house of mother Çacé.
When he came to the Lord’s house, the Lord was at that time a baby.
Çacé-mätä kept him at her house and entrusted him with the responsibility
of protecting and nourishing Çré Gauräìga. Since that time,
Éçäna stayed at the house of the Lord and served Him while tolerating
all kinds of mischievous behavior from Him. After Çré Gauräìga took
sannyäsa, Éçäna looked after mother Çacé and Viñëupriyä. When both
Çacé and Viñëupriyä left this world, Éçäna returned to the house of Advaita
Äcärya in Çäntipura. Later, by the order of Sétä Öhäkuräëé, the
consort of Advaita Äcärya, he married at an elderly age. Thereafter,
he lived in a place called Bhaìga Math. It is said that both Jagannätha
and Baladeva used to beg food from him and eat. By the blessing
of Sétä Öhäkuräëé, Éçäna begot three sons that delivered the entire
world. As soon as people heard the kértana of Éçäna’s eldest son, they
would become overwhelmed with ecstatic love of God.
