Lord Nityänanda’s Stay With Çréväsa and His Vyäsa-püjä Ceremony
bidyä dhana kule jïäna tapasyära made
mora bhakta stäne ñära äche aparädhe
se adhama sabäre nä dimu premasoga
nagariyä prati dimu brakñädira bhoga
“Näòä brought Me here from Vaikuëöha, but He is
living peacefully with Haridäsa. I descended to inaugurate
the näma-saìkértana movement. I will preach this
chanting in each and every house. However, I will not
give love of God to those fallen souls who offend My
devotees, being proud of their learning, wealth, high
birth, knowledge, and austerity. I will freely give to
everyone this love of God, which even Lord Brahmä
rarely attains.”
While hearing the Lord, all the devotees floated on the
ocean of bliss. After some time, the son of Çacé 6 became calm.
“What mischief have I done?” the Lord inquired. The devotees
replied, “Nothing serious.” The Lord then embraced everyone,
saying, “Please excuse My offenses.”
Hearing the Lord’s words, the devotees began to smile as Nityänanda
Prabhu rolled on the ground. He was unable to check
His emotions. Love of God overwhelmed Lord Nityänanda,
who is non-different from Lord Çeña. Sometimes He laughed,
sometimes He cried, and sometimes He loosened His clothes. He
appeared to be very childish. What remained of His sannyäsa
daëòa, what remained of His water pot, and what remained of
His clothes? He scattered everything all over the ground.
6 Çacé was the mother of Lord Gauräìga. She was a combined
form of Kauçalyä, Devaké, Påçni, Aditi, and Yaçodä. Nélämbara Cakravarté,
a resident of Çréhaööa, came to Navadvépa and took up residence
there. He had two sons, named Yogeçvara Paëòita and Ratnagarbha
Äcärya, and two daughters, named Çacé and Sarvajäyä. The Lord of
the universe agreed to become Çacé’s son. What could be more glorious
than this?
