ÇRÉ NITYÄNANDA CARITÄMÅTA
Your lotus feet. By worshiping You, I will most surely obtain the
treasure of love for Kåñëa.”
Fully absorbed in ecstasy, the most enchanting Lord Gauräìga
relentlessly offered prayers to Nityananda Prabhu. There
were many talks between the two Lords, but most of them were
accomplished with gestures. Lord Caitanya then said, “I am
afraid to ask You. Where are You from?”
The mentality of Nityänanda was very childish, and He
was overwhelmed with intense ecstasy. He spoke like a restless
boy. Lord Nityänanda knew the cause for the appearance of His
Lord. He thus folded His hands and spoke very humbly. Hearing
the words of Lord Caitanya, Lord Nityänanda felt shy. Then,
He began to reveal His real identity, saying, “I have traveled to
many holy places. I have seen all the holy places where Kåñëa
performed His pastimes. However, I saw only the holy places,
but I could not find Kåñëa.
“I asked an exalted personality, ‘Why do I see only thorns?
The places of the Lord’s pastimes are all empty and covered.
Can you tell Me where Kåñëa went?’ That personality told Me
that Kåñëa has gone to Bengal. He said that recently He was at
Gaya but now had returned to Navadvépa.
“I have heard that joyous saìkértana of the holy names is
being performed in Nadia. Some people say that Lord Näräyaëa
has appeared there. I have also heard that Nadia is famous for
the deliverance of the fallen souls. So, being most sinful as I am,
I have come here.”
Lord Caitanya said, “We are all immensely fortunate to see a
pure devotee like You. Today we are most satisfied, having seen
the flow of Your tears of ecstasy.”
Muräri smilingly said, “O Lord, we are confused by hearing
words such as ‘Your’ and ‘Our’ that are spoken by You.”
Çréväsa Paëòita said, “How can we understand Their dealings?
This is similar to how it is hard to understand how Kåñëa
and Çiva worship each other.”
Gadädhara Paëòita 4 said, “O Çréväsa Paëòita, what you say is
correct. Their qualities resemble that of Räma and Lakñmaëa.”
4 Gadädhara Paëòita was born in a village called Bekti in
