Lord Nityänanda’s Meeting with
Çrépad Mädhavendra Puré
As Lord Nityänanda traveled, by the will of providence
He met Çré Mädhavendra Puré. The body of Çré Mädhavendra
Puré was imbued with ecstatic love of God and his followers
shared the same sentiments. He did not relish anything
other than loving sentiments for Lord Kåñëa, who enjoyed performing
pastimes in the body of Mädhavendra Puré. What can I
say about the devotion of he who was the spiritual master of Çré
Advaita Äcärya?
Seeing Mädhavendra Puré, Nityananda Prabhu at once fell
unconscious onto the ground, stunned in ecstatic prema. Seeing
Lord Nityänanda, Mädhavendra Puré forgot himself and also fell
unconscious. Çré Gauracandra repeatedly said that Çré Mädhavendra
Puré is the original root of worship in ecstatic love. After
both Lord Nityänanda and Mädhavendra Puré swooned, the
disciples, headed by Éçvara Puri, began to cry.
