Lord Nityänanda’s Departure for Néläcala and His Glorification by Lord Caitanya
fell forcefully onto the ground in ecstatic love. The two Lords
circled one another and offered obeisances to each other. Then,
both Lords embraced with love and cried. Sometimes They
rolled on the ground with joy and roared in such a way that it
defeated the sound of ferocious lions. The love and affection
They exchanged was like that between Çré Rämacandra and
Lakñmaëa. They glorified each other, reciting favorite verses
and offered obeisances to one another with folded hands. The
shedding of tears, shivering, laughing, becoming unconscious,
the standing of the hairs of the body on end, paleness and many
other symptoms of kåñëa-prema were clearly visible in both of
Their bodies. Only the Lords’ most intimate associates saw the
wonderful love and devotion displayed by Them.
Lord Gaurahari folded His hands and offered prayers to Nityänanda:
“O Nityänanda, You are actually nityänanda, eternal
bliss. You are the support of the Vaiñëavas, and You are Lord
Ananta. All the ornaments decorating Your body are incarnations
of prema-bhakti. You have happily decorated Yourself with
the ornaments of nine types of bhakti.
“Your causeless mercy will certainly liberate all kinds of
wretched sinners. Even demigods, great sages, and mystic yogés
desire the devotion You awarded to the merchants of Saptagräma.
Lord Kåñëa, who is glorified by the Vedas, is Your property,
and so You can sell Him to anyone.
“Who has the power to understand Your glories? You are
ecstatic kåñëa-prema personified. When You perform nämasaìkértana,
You lose Yourself in ecstasy. You glorify Kåñëa’s
transcendental qualities throughout the entire day and night.
Kåñëacandra always resides within Your heart. In fact, Your
body is the abode of Kåñëa’s pastimes. If anyone offers love and
respect to You, Kåñëa never ever rejects him.”
After hearing this eulogy of Lord Caitanya, Nityänanda
Prabhu folded His hands and spoke very humbly, “Although You
are My Lord, somehow You are praising Me. This shows Your
affection for Your devotees. You can circumambulate Me, offer
obeisances to Me, kill Me, or save Me. You can do anything You
wish. What more can I say, O Lord?
