A Brähmaëa’s Doubt About the Character of Lord
Nityänanda and Its Removal by Lord Caitanya
All glories to Çré Gauracandra! All glories to Nityänanda
Prabhu! All glories to all the devotees of the Lord!
Lord Nityänanda happily enjoyed pastimes of näma-saìkértana
with His servants. As He previously enjoyed His pastimes
in Våndävana, the Lord enacted His pastimes in Navadvépa,
making everyone greatly attached to the lotus feet of Çré Kåñëa
Caitanya. Nityänanda Prabhu, the abode of transcendental effulgence,
wandered throughout Navadvépa with His enthusiastic
associates. He decorated Himself with beautiful ornaments
and flower garlands. Betel nuts and camphor reddened His lips.
Seeing the extraordinary pastimes of Lord Nityänanda, many
people became happy while others did not know what to make
of Him.
There was a brähmaëa who had been a classmate of Çré
Caitanya Mahäprabhu that resided in Navadvépa. Seeing the
mysterious behavior of Nityänanda, this brähmaëa maintained
