A Brähmaëa’s Doubt About the Character of Lord<br />

Nityänanda and Its Removal by Lord Caitanya<br />

All glories to Çré Gauracandra! All glories to Nityänanda<br />

Prabhu! All glories to all the devotees of the Lord!<br />

Lord Nityänanda happily enjoyed pastimes of näma-saìkértana<br />

with His servants. As He previously enjoyed His pastimes<br />

in Våndävana, the Lord enacted His pastimes in Navadvépa,<br />

making everyone greatly attached to the lotus feet of Çré Kåñëa<br />

Caitanya. Nityänanda Prabhu, the abode of transcendental effulgence,<br />

wandered throughout Navadvépa with His enthusiastic<br />

associates. He decorated Himself with beautiful ornaments<br />

and flower garlands. Betel nuts and camphor reddened His lips.<br />

Seeing the extraordinary pastimes of Lord Nityänanda, many<br />

people became happy while others did not know what to make<br />

of Him.<br />

There was a brähmaëa who had been a classmate of Çré<br />

Caitanya Mahäprabhu that resided in Navadvépa. Seeing the<br />

mysterious behavior of Nityänanda, this brähmaëa maintained<br />
