ior of the fallen, please give this sinner shelter at Your lotus feet. I
dared to envy You. I am so sinful. Now, what is my destiny?”
The ocean of mercy, Lord Nityänanda, placed His lotus feet
on the head of the brähmaëa. Having Nityänanda’s merciful
lotus feet on his head nullified all his offenses. Later on, this
brähmaëa convinced many other thieves to take shelter of Çré
Caitanya’s lotus feet. They gave up the sins of stealing and committing
violence, and they began to behave like saintly persons.
They chanted the holy names of Lord Hari millions of times.
They became expert in performing viñëu-bhakti and were maddened
with prema, always singing the glories of Lord Kåñëa.
Such was the causeless mercy of Lord Nityänanda.
In other incarnations, the Lord did not give such prema,
but Lord Nityänanda convinced everyone to take up Kåñëa consciousness
so that they could attain the lotus feet of Lord Caitanya.
The brähmaëa, who had previously wanted to rob Nityänanda
Svarüpa, now preached to his plunderer friends that
they should accept Nityänanda as their deliverer. The symptoms
of prema, such as the shedding of tears, shivering and the standing
of the hair on end, which are eagerly desired by great mystic
yogés were easily achieved by these plunderers. This is an exhibition
of the wonderful prowess of Nityänanda Svarüpa.
O brothers, please worship the lotus feet of Nityänanda.
Only by His mercy can one attain the lotus feet of Gauräìga.
Anyone who hears about the mercy of Lord Nityänanda will no
doubt achieve the association of Gauracandra. One who attentively
hears about the deliverance of these thieves will certainly
meet Nityänanda and Çré Caitanya. One who happily sings the
glories of Nityänanda Svarüpa will float on the ocean of transcendental
bliss.
Accepting Çré Caitanya and Nityänanda Prabhu as my life
and soul, I, Våndävana däsa, sing the glories of Their lotus feet.
