Licensed for Personal Use Only CHAPTER SIX Lord Nityänanda’s Deliverance of the Merchants of Saptagräma and His Meeting with Advaita Äcärya Nityänanda Prabhu stayed at Khaòadaha for some time and then went to Saptagräma, accompanied by His associates. Saptagräma is famous because the seven sages had previously resided there. It is also known as Triveëé-ghäöa. The seven sages performed austerities there on the bank of the Ganges and thus achieved the lotus feet of Çré Govinda. The three rivers—Ganges, Yamunä, and Sarasvaté—join at this place. Triveëé-ghäöa is well-known throughout the universe. Simply seeing this holy place eradicates one’s sinful reactions. With great happiness, Nityänanda Prabhu bathed at the confluence of the three rivers with His devotees. The Lord stayed at the house of the most fortunate Uddhäraëa Datta near the shore of Triveëé-ghäöa. Uddhäraëa Datta faithfully served the lotus feet of Nityänanda Prabhu with his body, mind, and words. Nityänanda Svarüpa is the Lord of Uddhäraëa Datta, birth after birth, and Uddhäraëa Datta is the servant of Nityänanda Prabhu, birth after birth. Due to Uddhäraëa Datta, the entire mercantile community became purified. There is no doubt about this. Lord Nityänanda incarnated to deliver the merchant caste. He bestowed love and devotion upon all of them. In Saptagräma, He personally performed kértana at the house of each and every merchant. The merchants worshiped His lotus feet with their hearts and souls. Everyone became astonished upon seeing the merchants’ worship of Lord Kåñëa. The glories of Nityänanda Prabhu are unlimited. He delivered fools, fallen souls, and merchants. He happily enjoyed His pastimes of näma-saìkértana at Saptagräma. No one could adequately describe these ecstatic pastimes of chanting and dancing, even in a hundred years. The residents of Saptagräma now enjoyed the happiness the people of Nadia had previously enjoyed. Everyone performed näma-saìkértana without experiencing the influence of thirst, sleep, or fear. Lord Nityänanda performed kértana in everyone’s house, on every street of Saptagräma. As soon as people would see the wonderful emotions displayed by Nityänanda Svarüpa, they could not remain steady, but became overwhelmed. What to speak of others, even Muslims who were naturally averse to Lord Viñëu took shelter of Nityänanda’s lotus feet. When the brähmaëas of Saptagräma saw tears of love in the eyes of Muslims, they condemned themselves. All glories to Avadhüta Nityänanda, whose mercy makes these wonderful pastimes possible! Nityänanda Prabhu happily enjoyed His pastimes throughout Saptagräma. After some days, <strong>Nityananda</strong> Prabhu came to Çäntipura, to the house of His most dear Advaita Äcärya. When Advaita Äcärya saw the beautiful face of Nityänanda Prabhu, His happiness knew no bounds. He shouted and offered Him obeisances. He repeatedly embraced Nityänanda Prabhu, drenching His body with tears of ecstatic love. Seeing one another intoxicated both Nityänanda Prabhu and Advaita Äcärya.
