Lord Nityänanda’s Meeting with Gadädhara Däsa
“Listen, Gadädhara, tomorrow I will chant the holy name of
Lord Hari, but for today, please go home.”
As soon as Gadädhara däsa heard the name of Hari from
the mouth of the Kazi, he became filled with ecstatic love. “Why
tomorrow?” He said. “You have just chanted the name of Hari.
Now no misfortune will ever befall you because you have chanted
the name of Lord Hari.”
Saying this, Gadädhara däsa became overwhelmed with
ecstasy so that he danced and clapped his hands. Later, Gadädhara
däsa returned home. Lord Nityänanda resided in the
body of Gadädhara däsa. Such was the extraordinary glory of
Gadädhara däsa, who was considered an associate of Lord Caitanya.
He mercifully glanced upon the Kazi, who the devotees
avoided at a great distance. The Kazi had forcibly converted
many Hindus into Muslims and was a most sinful person. Yet,
even a person as sinful as the Kazi gives up his violent nature by
the merciful association of Kåñëa’s devotees.
It is indeed a fact that even snakes, fire, or tigers cannot
threaten one who is absorbed in Kåñëa consciousness. By Nityänanda
Prabhu’s mercy, His associates easily received the love
and devotion desired by Lord Brahmä and the attachment for
Kåñëa aspired for by the gopés.
O brothers, please worship the lotus feet of Nityänanda
Prabhu. It is by His mercy that one obtains the lotus feet of Çré
Caitanya.
Accepting Çré Caitanya and Nityänanda Prabhu as my life
and soul, I, Våndävana däsa, sing the glories of Their lotus feet.
