ÇRÉ NITYÄNANDA CARITÄMÅTA
“When You saw Lord Jagannätha, You fell unconscious onto
the ground,” Lord Nityänanda explained. Fortunately, Särvabhauma
Bhaööäcärya was present at that time. He picked You
up and brought You to his home. In ecstatic bliss, You remained
in trance for nine hours. Here is Särvabhauma Bhaööäcärya, offering
You his respectful obeisances.”
The Lord embraced Särvabhauma and said, “Lord Jagannätha
is very merciful. He kindly brought Me to the house of
Särvabhauma Bhaööäcärya. I had grave doubts about how I
would attain your good association. Today, Lord Kåñëa has effortlessly
fulfilled My desire.”
Saying this and looking at Särvabhauma, the Lord began
to smile. He continued, “Listen. Today I saw Lord Jagannätha
directly. Seeing Lord Jagannätha, I intensely desired to embrace
Him, but as soon as I ran toward Him, I lost consciousness and
so was unaware of anything thereafter. Fortunately, Särvabhauma
was there and so I was protected from danger. I vow that,
from today on, I will see Lord Jagannätha only from a distance.
I will never enter the temple room, rather I will see Jagannätha
while standing beside the Garuòa-stambha. By good fortune, I
did not embrace Lord Jagannätha. Had I done so, it would have
been a great impediment.”
Nityänanda Prabhu replied, “Today You’ve been saved. Now
it is already quite late. Please go and take bath.”
“Nityänanda, You can control Me at all times,” Lord Caitanya
said. “I surrender unto You.”
The Lord happily bathed and then smilingly sat with
the devotees. Särvabhauma Bhaööäcärya brought varieties of
mahäprasäda and placed it before the Lord. Lord Caitanya offered
His obeisances to the mahäprasäda and then began to
honor it, along with His devotees. Anyone who hears of the ecstatic
eating pastimes of Çré Gauräìga at Néläcala will obtain the
association of Nityänanda Prabhu without a doubt. By hearing
of Nityänanda’s visit to Néläcala as described in Antya-khaëòa,
one will float in the ocean of kåñëa-prema.
Accepting Çré Caitanya and Nityänanda Prabhu as my life
and soul, I, Våndävana däsa, sing the glories of Their lotus feet.
