ÇRÉ NITYÄNANDA CARITÄMÅTA
Lord personally made them take prasäda, this did not pacify
their hearts. Mädhäi, especially, often cried while remembering
his violence toward Nityänanda Prabhu. Though Nityänanda
Prabhu forgave all his offenses, his mind did not become peaceful.
“I made Nityänanda bleed.” Lamenting in this way, he would
beat his chest with his fists. “The body in which Çré Caitanya
enjoys pastimes, I, the most sinful man, violently struck.”
Remembering this, Mädhäi would lose consciousness. He
seemed to have no other activity than crying.
Nityänanda Prabhu happily wandered all over Nadia in
the mood of a young boy, without any pride. He was naturally
filled with ecstasy. One day, upon seeing Nityänanda Prabhu
alone, Mädhäi fell down and caught hold of His feet. Indeed, He
washed Lord Nityänanda’s feet with the tears of love streaming
from his eyes.
Placing straw in his mouth, Mädhäi prayed, “O Lord, as
Viñëu You maintain the entire universe. As Ananta You hold
innumerable universes on Your hoods. You are the epitome of
devotional service. Lord Çiva and Pärvaté always remember You.
You bestow devotional service unto Yourself to everyone. There
is no one dearer to Lord Caitanya than You. You chant the glories
of Kåñëa with Your unlimited mouths. You teach people
that devotional service to the Lord is their only duty. The great
sage Närada forever sings Your glories. Lord Caitanya is Your
only wealth.
“Another of Your names is Divider of River Kälindé. King
Janaka received transcendental knowledge by worshiping You.
You are the embodiment of all religious principles, and You are
the original Personality of Godhead. The Vedas describe You
as Ädideva, or the primeval Lord. You are the father of the
universe and master of all mystic perfections. You are the great
wielder of the bow, Lakñmaëacandra.
“You punish the atheists, and You are the master of all those
who relish devotional mellows. You know the internal mood and
mission of Lord Caitanya. By seeing You, Mahämäyä became
worshipable. The innumerable universes desire the shade of
Your lotus feet. You are the foremost devotee of Lord Caitanya
