who profess to be keeping the commandments of
God and the faith of Jesus, will do more than any
other class to promote and honor, by their
consistent lives, by their godly example and their
active influence, the cause which they represent.
But how often have the professed advocates of the
truth proved the greatest obstacle to its
advancement! The unbelief indulged, the doubts
expressed, the darkness cherished, encourage the
presence of evil angels, and open the way for the

Lying Spirits Contradict the Scriptures
The saints must get a thorough understanding
of present truth, which they will be obliged to
maintain from the Scriptures. They must
understand the state of the dead, for the spirits of
devils will yet appear to them, professing to be
beloved friends and relatives, who will declare to
them that the Sabbath has been changed, also other
