they were expected to fill, that a reverse of<br />

circumstances might not leave them incapable of<br />

custom, Paul was a tentmaker; and when his means<br />

had been expended to advance the cause of Christ<br />

and for his own support, he resorted to his trade in<br />

As we see our sisters departing from simplicity in<br />

dress and cultivating a love for the fashi<strong>on</strong>s of the<br />

world, we feel troubled. By taking steps in this<br />

directi<strong>on</strong> they are separating themselves from God<br />

and neglecting the inward adorning. They should<br />

not feel at liberty to spend their God-given time in<br />

the unnecessary ornamentati<strong>on</strong> of their clothing.<br />
