Beginnings might be made in every prominent<br />

place where camp meetings are held. Make small<br />

beginnings and enlarge as circumstances may<br />

demand. Count the cost of every undertaking, that<br />

you may be sure of being able to finish. Draw as<br />

little as possible from the treasury. Men of faith<br />

and financial ability are needed to plan<br />

ec<strong>on</strong>omically. Our sanitariums must be erected<br />

with a limited outlay of means. Buildings in which<br />

to begin the work can often be secured at low cost.<br />

Why C<strong>on</strong>duct Sanitariums?<br />

In letters received from our brethren, the questi<strong>on</strong>s<br />

are asked, “Why do we expend so much effort in<br />

establishing sanitariums? Why do we not pray for<br />

the healing of the sick, instead of having<br />

sanitariums?”<br />

There is more to these questi<strong>on</strong>s that is at first<br />

apparent. In the early history of our work, many<br />

were healed by prayer. And some, after they were<br />

healed, pursued the same course in the indulgence<br />
