the spirit of the world is proud, partial, exclusive,
favoring only a few.
In erecting our buildings, we must keep away
from the homes of the great men of the world and
let them seek the help they need by withdrawing
from their associates into more retired places. We
shall not please God by building our sanitariums
among people extravagant in dress and living, who
are attracted to those who can make a great display.

Why do we establish sanitariums? That the sick
who come to them for treatment may receive relief
from physical suffering and may also receive
spiritual help. Because of their condition of health,
they are susceptible to the sanctifying influence of
the medical missionaries who labor for their
restoration. Let us work wisely, for their best
interests.
We are not building sanitariums for hotels.
