them, and if they do not become skillful in their<br />

professi<strong>on</strong> they have <strong>on</strong>ly themselves to blame.<br />

They must be diligent students; and, by close<br />

applicati<strong>on</strong> and faithful attenti<strong>on</strong> to details, they<br />

should become caretakers. It should be necessary<br />

for no <strong>on</strong>e to follow them to see that their work is<br />

d<strong>on</strong>e without mistakes.<br />

Those who occupy resp<strong>on</strong>sible positi<strong>on</strong>s should<br />

so educate and discipline themselves that all within<br />

the sphere of their influence may see what man can<br />

be, and what he can do, when c<strong>on</strong>nected with the<br />

God of wisdom and power. And why should not a<br />

man thus privileged become intellectually str<strong>on</strong>g?<br />

Again and again have worldlings sneeringly<br />

asserted that those who believe present truth are<br />

weak-minded, deficient in educati<strong>on</strong>, without<br />

positi<strong>on</strong> or influence. This we know to be untrue;<br />

but is there not some reas<strong>on</strong> for these asserti<strong>on</strong>s?<br />

Many have c<strong>on</strong>sidered it a mark of humility to be<br />

ignorant and uncultivated. Such pers<strong>on</strong>s are<br />

deceived as to what c<strong>on</strong>stitutes true humility and<br />

Christian meekness.<br />
