Self-denial is essential to genuine religi<strong>on</strong>.<br />

Those who have not learned to deny themselves are<br />

destitute of vital, practical godliness. We cannot<br />

expect anything else than that the claims of religi<strong>on</strong><br />

will come in c<strong>on</strong>tact with the natural affecti<strong>on</strong>s and<br />

worldly interests. There is work for every<strong>on</strong>e in the<br />

vineyard of the Lord.<br />

Those professing to be Christians should not enter<br />

the marriage relati<strong>on</strong> until the matter has been<br />

carefully and prayerfully c<strong>on</strong>sidered from an<br />

elevated standpoint, to see if God can be glorified<br />

by the uni<strong>on</strong>. Then they should duly c<strong>on</strong>sider the<br />

result of every privilege of the marriage relati<strong>on</strong>,<br />

and sanctified principle should be the basis of<br />

every acti<strong>on</strong>. Before increasing their family, they<br />

should take into c<strong>on</strong>siderati<strong>on</strong> whether God would<br />

be glorified or dish<strong>on</strong>ored by their bringing<br />

children into the world. They should seek to glorify<br />

God by their uni<strong>on</strong> from the first, and during every<br />
