Galatians 5:16, 17. He names some of the forms of<br />

fleshly lusts—idolatry, drunkenness, and such like.<br />

After menti<strong>on</strong>ing the fruits of the Spirit, am<strong>on</strong>g<br />

which is temperance, he adds, “And they that are<br />

Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affecti<strong>on</strong>s<br />

and lusts.” Verse 24.<br />

There are many am<strong>on</strong>g professed Christians<br />

today who would decide that Daniel was too<br />

particular and would pr<strong>on</strong>ounce him narrow and<br />

bigoted. They c<strong>on</strong>sider the matter of eating and<br />

drinking of too little c<strong>on</strong>sequence to require such a<br />

decided stand—<strong>on</strong>e involving the probable<br />

sacrifice of every earthly advantage. But those who<br />

reas<strong>on</strong> thus will find in the day of judgment that<br />

they turned from God’s express requirements and<br />

set up their own opini<strong>on</strong> as a standard of right and<br />

wr<strong>on</strong>g. They will find that what seemed to them<br />

unimportant was not so regarded of God. His<br />

requirements should be sacredly obeyed. Those<br />

who accept and obey <strong>on</strong>e of His precepts because it<br />

is c<strong>on</strong>venient to do so, while they reject another<br />
