<strong>Trouble</strong> codes are displayed by the malfunction indicator<br />

lamp (MIL).<br />

Accessing<br />

4A-GE 1985-90 - with manifold absolute pressure (MAP)<br />

sensor<br />

Switch ignition ON.<br />

Bridge data link connector (DLC) terminals El <strong>and</strong><br />

TEI (T) m.<br />

If no trouble codes are stored, the lamp will flash once every<br />

4,5 seconds a.<br />

Individual short flashes display trouble code a.<br />

Warning lamp flash duration: 0,5 second [A].<br />

A 0,5 second pause separates each flash [B].<br />

A 2,5 second pause separates each trouble code El [C].<br />

For example: <strong>Trouble</strong> codes 2 <strong>and</strong> 4 displayed El.<br />

<strong>Trouble</strong> codes are repeated 4,5 seconds after last trouble<br />

code El [Dl.<br />

Count MIL flashes. Note trouble codes. Compare with<br />

trouble code table.<br />

Switch ignition OFF.<br />

Remove bridge wire.<br />

Rectify faults as necessary.<br />
