Accessing The engine control module (ECM) fault memory can only be accessed using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector (DLC). NOTE: DLC terminal 1 is not connected to ECM terminal 11. Erasing Ensure ignition switched OFF. Disconnect ECM multi-plug or battery earth lead. NOTE: ECM adaptive memory may be erased causing erratic running faults. Carry out road test to allow ECM to re-learn basic values. Diagnostic equipment can also be used to erase data from ECM fault memory. WARNING: Disconnecting the battery may erase memory from electronic units (e.g. radio, clock). Accessing<br />
The engine control module (ECM) fault memory can only be<br />
accessed using diagnostic equipment connected to the data<br />
link connector (DLC).<br />
NOTE: DLC terminal 1 is not connected to ECM terminal 11.<br />
Erasing<br />
Ensure ignition switched OFF.<br />
Disconnect ECM multi-plug or battery earth lead.<br />
NOTE: ECM adaptive memory may be erased causing erratic<br />
running faults. Carry out road test to allow ECM to<br />
re-learn basic values.<br />
<strong>Diagnostic</strong> equipment can also be used to erase data from<br />
