Engine control module (ECM) incorporates transmission<br />

control module (TCM) function.<br />

<strong>Trouble</strong> codes can be displayed by the MIL, d~gital odometer<br />

or by using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link<br />

connector (DLC).<br />

Accessing - flash type<br />

Within 5 seconds switch ignition ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON.<br />

Count MIL flashes. Note trouble codes.<br />

Each trouble code consists of two groups<br />

[A].<br />

The first group of flashes indicate the 'tens' of the trouble<br />

code.<br />

The second group of flashes indicate the 'units' of the<br />

trouble code.<br />

A short pause separates 'tens' <strong>and</strong> 'units' rn [B].<br />

A long pause separates each trouble code rn [C].<br />

For example: <strong>Trouble</strong> code 21 displayed rn.<br />

End of test sequence indicated by trouble code 55.<br />

<strong>Trouble</strong> codes can also be displayed by the digital odometer<br />

using the same key cycling procedure as above. After<br />

code 55 is displayed the odometer will return to its normal<br />

mode.<br />

Accessing - EOBDlHex type<br />

<strong>Trouble</strong> codes can only be displayed by usmg diagnostic<br />

equipment connected to the data link connector (DLC).<br />

Erasing<br />

The engine control module (ECM) fault memory can only be<br />

erased using diagnostic equipment connected to the data<br />

link connector (DLC).
