Chile at Clermont-Ferrand 2017
We are attending due to the Festival
International du Court Métrage à Clermont-
Ferrand and the Short Film Market’s
importance in presenting our new talent at
a time of exiting time of rapid growth for
Chile’s audiovisual industry.
Reo, by Mauricio Corco, is representing us in the International
Competition at Clermont-Ferrand, our first festival this year.
Before going any further, we look back proudly on the triumph
of The simple things, by Alvaro Anguita, which was awarded the
International Grand Prize for Short Film last year, right here
at Clermont-Ferrand. Let there be no doubt about it, this is one
of the most important short film festivals in the world, and we
feel honored by the fact that our presence also includes the
participation of The Unnatural, by Marcos Sánchez, in the Lab
Competition category.
In addition, we have a program in the video library entitled
“Making Chilean short films global”, with 31 titles, a market
screening; and the programming of the best short films from
our 2016 catalogue, which have been recognized throughout
the world, such as And the Whole Sky Fit in the Dead Cow’s Eye by
Francisca Alegría, Ana’s Dream by José Luis Torres Leiva, I’m
not from Here by Maite Alberdi, Non castus by Andrea Castillo
and Sing with Meaning by Leonardo Beltrán.
Clermont is fertile ground for the growth of future talent and
innovative ways of understanding film.
Here, we present our films
and delegation.
