Attention<br />

Never remove the cover on a power supply or any part that has the<br />

following label attached.<br />

Hazardous voltage, current, and energy levels are present inside any<br />

component that has this label attached. There are no servicable parts inside<br />

these components.<br />

This procedure describes how to remove and replace the power supply.<br />

1. Remove any media (diskettes, CDs, or tapes) from the drives, shut down your<br />

operating system, and turn off all attached devices and the computer.<br />

2. Unplug all power cords from electrical outlets.<br />

3. Disconnect the cables attached to the computer. This includes power cords,<br />

input/output (I/O) cables, and any other cables that are connected to the<br />

computer. See “Front connectors” on page 150 and “Rear connectors” on page<br />

151.<br />

4. Remove the four screws at the rear of the chassis that secure the power<br />

supply.<br />

5. Open the computer cover. See “Opening the cover” on page 154.
