<strong>Replacing</strong> the front audio/USB assembly<br />

144 Hardware Maintenance Manual<br />

This procedure describes how to remove and replace the front audio/USB<br />

assembly.<br />

1. Remove the computer cover. See “Removing the cover” on page 117.<br />

2. Remove the front bezel. See “Removing and replacing the front bezel” on<br />

page 118<br />

3. Disconnect the front audio/USB assembly cable from the system board. See<br />

the system board illustration for your machine type at “System board<br />

connectors” on page 116.<br />

4. Note the front audio/USB assembly cable routing and remove the screw that<br />

secures the assembly to the chassis.<br />

5. Remove the front audio/USB assembly.<br />

6. Route the cable for the new front audio/USB assembly through the hole in the<br />

chassis and to the system board.<br />

7. Install the front audio/USB assembly into the chassis and secure it with the<br />

screw.<br />

<strong>8.</strong> Connect the front audio/USB assembly cable to the system board.<br />

9. Reinstall the front bezel.<br />

10. Go to “Completing the FRU replacement” on page 147.
