<strong>Replacing</strong> the front fan assembly<br />

This procedure describes how to remove and replace the front fan assembly.<br />

1. Remove the computer cover. See “Removing the cover” on page 117.<br />

2. Remove the front bezel. See “Removing and replacing the front bezel” on page<br />

11<strong>8.</strong><br />

3. Note the routing of the front fan cable to the system board. Disconnect the<br />

front fan assembly cable from the system board. See “System board connectors”<br />

on page 116.<br />

4. The fan assembly is mounted with four rubber mounts that protrude through<br />

the front of the chassis. Remove the fan assembly by pulling the rubber mounts<br />

back through the chassis.<br />

5. Install the new front fan assembly by aligning the rubber mounts of the front<br />

fan assembly with the holes on the chassis and push the rubber mounts<br />

through the holes.
