Hi folks, The BING Maps people have just released another map update dated
January 18, 2010.
1. In terms of first time high resolution we can now see the former SW
site of: Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in Russia. From the Excel files we have the
coordinates as:
46 50 33 N 142 53 05 E Many masts can still be seen. Hopefully Victor &
Wolfgang can tell us more about the site & its antennas. Also if anyone
can tell us the date of the last SW BCB transmission from this site, we be
pleased to hear from you.
2. EXTRACT FROM BING MAPS BLOG.
The Bing Maps imagery release for January 2010 release is SO BIG we had to
break it into two parts - not kidding! The January 2010 Part 1 release is
558,000 square kilometers of imagery consisting of:
* Germany's Ruhrgebiet
* Belgium
* Luxembourg
* Vancouver - Sea to Sky Hwy to Squamish and beyond
* Additional imagery scattered throughout Russia, Bulgaria, Hungary,
Poland, Latvia and Turkey.
If anyone finds further new imagery of SW sites or notable MW ones from
this latest update please drop us a line.

Re: Bing maps. Bing Maps in Germany version is very, very SLOW !
at least 30 x times slower, compared to Google Earth / maps. Like a 16 MHz
notebook of 1991 year !
Bing Maps English version is a little bit faster, but Microsoft has very
little streetside images yet...

Always answered "There is no streetside near here"; and the red pass
through traffic sign occured...
* Vancouver - Sea to Sky Hwy to Squamish and beyond.
Vancouver ist the correct ONLY streetside image I found.
