Web-blog of Dan Anderson at tells us that another transmitter will be installed by HCJB engineers as a gift for Radio Centrafrique at Bangui-Bimbo site. Frequency not yet announced but probably 5035 kHz. The website also has photos of antenna installation at both sites. Please note that these two transmitters are low power, rated only as 1 kW. The spurs are back, as bad as ever, from the CVC CHILE transmitter relaying HCJB on 11920. May 8 at 2325 same but distorted audio is to be heard very close to 11900 and 11940, just as a Portuguese ID comes from HCJB on all. The fundamental is also noisy, but this is bleedover from the DentroCuban Jamming Command on 11930 vs R. Marti. A few days ago and at some chex since, the spurs have been gone, but obviously not permanently. Tonight rechecked just before sign-off at 0043 May 9, the center of the spurs has shifted to approx. plus and minus 21.9 kHz, i.e. 11898.1 and 11941.9. 0044 sign-off claims to be on 11920 only! If they are not going to get rid of them once and for all, the least they could do would be to include the spurs in IDs, ha! All three off shortly after 0045* UT. (Glenn Hauser-OK-USA, dxld May 8) CHINA I can't receive Yunnan PBS minority lang. sce on 6937 kHz today. I was able to receive it until yesterday. Probably, I think that QSY to 7210 kHz, but not confirm by heavy QRM of VOV-1 on same freq. Firedrake scan 0318 to 0338, April 30. Only found two; 12600 // 12970, both fair. Unusual to find so few! (Ron Howard-CA-USA, dxld May 6) Firedrake April 30: 15730, fair at 1315, aside Sweden 15735, but what's to jam on 15730? Today's edition of Aoki does not show anything, except Sound of Hope on 15750 varies 15700-15795 kHz, so probably jumped here today, altho supposedly in a break at 1300-1400 UT between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan sites. 13100, fair at 1310 12600, good at 1310 10440, good at 1318 with het from something, ute? 10300, poor at 1318, much weaker than 10440, why? Not found anywhere else 8-19 MHz, not even 8400 at 1323. Former regular spot 9000 has not been heard for several weeks. Firedrake May 1: 10240, good at 1320, unusual frequency 10440, equally good at 1320 12600, fair at 1326 12960, good at 1326, not on 12970 or 12950 today. 13970, good at 1326 None others found 8-19 MHz. However, checking 15540 kHz at 1332 UT I hear weak CNR1 jamming // much stronger 15285 and 15265 kHz; nothing else audible on 15540 kHz, so I wonder if V. of Tibet's expanded broadcast is really contracted now out of this timeslot. But unlike their teeny weeny DentroCuban comrades, the ChiCom are pretty astute at avoiding jamming against nothing, even if we can't hear the victim. And at 1434 UT I find a poor and fluttery CNR1 on 17560 // 15285 kHz. This is to jam V. of Tibet due northeast from MADAGASCAR at 1400-1430, unheard. As of today this VOT broadcast is at 1400-1430 UT only, ex 1330-1430 UT.
