GUYANA 3289.99 V. of Guyana, at 0905-0940 UT on April 26, good level
despite constant static crashes. Soft spoken man DJ in English, oldies
pops "My Cup Runneth Over With Love," "You Light Up My Life," etc. TC's,
birthday greetings, local anmts, "Good morning to you," "plenty of
sunshine today." Starting to drop fast by 0940 UT. Great to have this one
back per recent rpts.

Senderbauer Jamie Labadia wollte am 18. April 2010 nach Georgetown
fliegen, um den neuen Kurzwellensender des National Communications Network
nachzuarbeiten. Bekanntlich hatte man bei ihm einen 10 kW-Sender fuer
5290[?] kHz bestellt und dabei eine Mischung der eigentlich vorgesehen
Frequenzen 3290 kHz nachts und 5950 kHz tagsueber produziert. Labadia
wollte beide Frequenzen bis spaetestens Ende des Monats in Betrieb sehen.

The BBC WS stopped broadcasting in Hong Kong after the turn over to China
in 1997. RTHK run some newscasts but that's about it.
That was BBC WS on SW. Station was located in NW New Territories, area now
a massive landfill.
Replying to DF5SX's mention of Radio 6 on 675 kc: Yes I know.
But now on that frequency is one of Metro Radio's channels.

As for the web site, I believe seeing how Radio 6 is only non-RTHK content
service, gives them convenient excuse to give it a little less visibility.
No point or perhaps even no contractual basis to stream it, therefore not
archived either. Nor schedule anything for it. So no real surprise that
only mention of R6 I can find is at bottom of their "Radio Home Page"
