Budget cuts.
NO AM broadcasts of Radio Bulgaria in 0800-1300 UT slot anymore. (wb)
Bulgarian National Radio suspends some mediumwave transmissions.
The Director General of Bulgarian National Radio, Valeri Todorov, spoke
to Bulgarian MPs from the Parliamentary Committee on Culture, Civil
Society and Media and introduced to them some of the anti-crisis
measures [to tackle the national budget deficit of an estimated
750 million euros] undertaken by the national radio. The main focus is
the temporary suspension of some of the transmissions on mediumwave in
regions of the country where there is guaranteed FM reception.
Mr Todorov voiced his hope that this would not inconvenience much the
population in these regions.

I mean 4 April to 9 October are the NON-DST dates for Chile,
i.e. UT -3 hrs until April 3 and from Oct 10;
UT -4 hrs from April 4 to October 9.

[sic; the 12-23 and 23-02 schedule is really in effect from 4 April to
9 Oct. These are the DST dates for Chile, but why should that have any
bearing on broadcasts to other countries originating in Miami?? Perhaps
local working/office hours for staff in Chile trump everything else -- gh]
