(Technical service GTRK "Voice of Russia", "DX club", via MIDXB # 669, 26 Jan, ed Vadim Alexeev-RUS, via RUSdx) 891 An oscillating carrier has been interfering with the Dutch station for a long time. The culprit appears to be Petrozavodsk, but the audio is usually too distorted for positive identification. The hours are 0300-2200 UT. (R BULGARIA DX MIX News, Ivo Ivanov, via wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Feb 1) I have been monitoring Armavir Krasnodar 9440 kHz at 1400-1500 UT as in my logs and dxlds. It's YFR, initially in English, then switched to another language. A difference of opinion whether it is Assamese[see above on DXM, wb.] or Pashto, see dxld 10-04. (Glenn Hauser-OK-USA, dxld Jan 31) SAUDI ARABIA 15435 Patrolling 15 MHz band around 1500 UT Feb 2, I was braced for another blast of buzz from Riyadh 15435 kHz transmitter, but it never happened! At 1506 UT I checked 15435 kHz itself and there was BSKSA, but it's been fixed, (or transmitter substituted), no buzz at all, and occupying normal bandwidth not exceeding 10 kHz!!! But not totally healthy as it does have a lite whine on it. Apparently BSKSA finally got an earful at HFCC Kuala Lumpur, or somehow, that they had a slight problem for the past year. By 1548 UT recheck, 15435 kHz was weakening with flutter, now in Arabic talk rather than Qu'ran recitation, still stronger than // 15225 kHz. Let us hope the buzz be gone forever, but it's too early to count on that. (Glenn Hauser-OK-USA, dxld Feb 2) 17730.00 even ! No BUZZ this morning on this usual odd 17729.65v channel of BSKSA Riyadh 1st program transmission, today at 0630 UT S=8-9, scheduled 0600-0900 UT. // 17740.00. Many ID's by charming lady announcer. Also Holy Quran program noted at fair level on 15380.00 and 17895.00 kHz at same time. (wb, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Feb 5) SERBIA 1503 Radio 202 - the power is now 10 kW, ex1 kW. Reception reports are welcomed. 24 hrs. Best time to listen is from 1800 UTC because Radio Zavidovici, Bosnia is on the air on the same frequency from 0700 to 1800 UTC. The announcement for "202" in Serbian is: "Radio Dvestadva" (202).
