UNIDENTIFIED UnID on 5840 kHz. I received unknown language station which seemed to be Middle East / Central Asia station at 1650 (tune in)-1730*UT on Oct 4 on 5840 kHz. Audio file: at 1715 UT What station will it be? Oct 4. I can't yet confirm it for poor condition and poor modulation. On-air on Mo., We. and Fr. only at *1630-1730*UT. The language is sound like Persian. I can receive the other program on 5130 kHz. not // 5840 kHz. Oct 11. There is not Radio Farda and IBB station. Maybe religious station, mainly sermons by OM. [later] Acc. to the monitoring of Mauno Ritola and me, I seem to be new station for Iran. Mauno say "ID sounded something like "Radyoe Rahoye Iran" or similar. It must be via CIS txs, maybe Armenia." and "I think it is a political station, not religious. They talked all the time about Iran." This station sends a intermittent test tone from 1625 UT and *1630-1730* UT mainly speech of the Persian by OM. It operates only on Mon., Wed. and Fri. Can not copy of ID with badly condition in Japan. I hope for additional information of DXer which can understand Persian. On Oct 15 started at 1630 UT, too. ID as "Inja Los Angels, Radyo-e Rahoya Iran" by OM. by Hiro in Akita at 1630 UT on Oct 15. Is this broadcast of a group of U.S. origin? Oct 15. Hi, Yes I can answer that question. We have a fully automatic station at WOF now and when we are not there it can be controlled from the Babcock Control Room in the BBC's Bush House. As well as that control room we have another site in London at our Media Management Centre at Blue Fin, Southwark. The staff there have recently started to be trained in working WOF remotely and we have had some visit WOF to become aquainted with our equipment, these transmissions were for them! There will be futher training sessions over the next couple of weeks. So no doubt these amendments will run again. Anyway well spotted!
