Asia in February), and it does things that other media can't do; but a generation of a billion (and increasing) 'connected' mostly-young people has emerged for whom radio has little or no relevance. This presents a huge opportunity which we cannot ignore. Kind regards (Andrew Flynn-UK, Dir International Broadcasting Christian Vision, The Pavilion Manor Drive, Coleshill, West Midlands B46 1DL UK Jan 26, WoR dxld Jan 26) Andrew, Thanks for explaining. I wonder if you could also give me some ideas about this: Whose decision was it to dismantle the Darwin facility rather than repurpose it? One would have thought that Radio Australia would be glad to have it back for its own full use. Since CVC was leasing it, whose property is it now, on the air or not? Are some of the transmitters, antennas destined for other sites? Do you plan to mark the final transmission(s) in any particular way, special programming or announcements, and if so, exactly when; specially endorsed QSLs? (Glenn Hauser to Andrew Flynn-UK, Jan 26, via WoR dxld) The Cox Peninsula "Darwin" transmitter site is closing down as of January 31, and to be dismantled[in June 2010, wb.]. CVC has not told us exactly when the last transmission will go on air, or whether any of the existing transmissions of its own or relays of R. Australia, and JCI (Japanese clandestines to North Korea) will have stopped earlier, but based on Aoki list, here is the full schedule we have been able to put together for all Darwin transmissions, in station, language, and then time order: 9585 2200-2300 340 CVC Chinese 15170 2300-0200 340 CVC Chinese 17690 0400-0600 340 CVC Chinese 17635 0600-1200 340 CVC Chinese 13685 1200-1800 340 CVC Chinese 15535 0930-1230 303 CVC English 13635 1230-1830 303 CVC English 15250 2300-0200 290 CVC Indonesian 17820 0400-1000 290 CVC Indonesian 9890 1000-1300 290 CVC Indonesian 11925 1300-1700 290 CVC Indonesian 11825 1300-1430 340 RA Chinese 12010 2200-2400 317 RA English [except Burmese 2300-2330] 17665 0000-0200 317 RA English [except Burmese 0100-0130] 11980 1600-1700 317 RA English 9630 2200-2330 290 RA Indonesian 15180 0000-0030 290 RA Indonesian 0400-0430 290 RA Indonesian 0500-0530 290 RA Indonesian file:///Z|/DOKUMENTATION-BULLETINS/WWDXD-BCDX/2010/BCDX949.TXT[11.06.2012 10:39:49]
