Christmas Eve, Sunday 24th December 2017 

Breathe in the scent of mulled cider and mince pies as you join us on Christmas Eve 

for a sparking Champagne reception. Our resident musician plays seasonal favourites 

on the Grand Piano while a thousand twinkling lights and shimmering ornaments 

create a specular festive ambiance in the Compass Lounge where the joy and 

excitement of the holiday season fills the air. 

This evening experience fine dining and exemplary service in our AA award winning 

Restaurant 1881 with a sensational 3 course meal, followed by fabulous live 

entertainment in the Compass Lounge. Later, warm drinks and homemade mince 

pies will be on offer for those returning from midnight mass. 

Christmas Day, Monday 25th December 2017 

This Christmas morning wake up to the breath-taking aroma of a full Devonshire 

breakfast and freshly baked pastries being served in the restaurant all accompanied 

by a celebratory glass of Buzz fizz. Spend the morning at your leisure. 

Your choice of Christmas lunch will be served over 4 courses in the elegance of 

Restaurant 1881. After dinner, relax as you wish. Father Christmas will be joining us 

with gifts in the Compass Lounge after the Queens speech has been shown. 

This evening our resident pianist returns whilst a traditional yuletide buffet will be 

served in the Restaurant. After, guests are welcome to relax with a drink or take 

part in the entertainment and games on offer. 

Boxing Day, Tuesday 26th December 2017 

Take a second leisurely breakfast and spend the morning as you wish. Lunch will 

be served in the Restaurant. This evening a wonderful gala buffet is served, 

followed by live entertainment, music and dancing.

New Year’s Eve, Sunday 31st December 2017 

Start the day with a hearty full English breakfast, made with our locally sourced 

ingredients, after which the day is yours to spend as you please. You could book 

a luxury Caudalie treatment, take a dip in the heated indoor pool, enjoy the hot tub 

and sauna or work up an appetite in the gym. 

The evening celebrations commence with pre-dinner drinks and a canapé reception 

in the lounge, followed by a 5 course gala dinner in Restaurant 1881. You are invited 

to continue the celebrations at a spectacular party with live acapella music as we 

countdown to 2017. Shortly after we have welcomed in the New Year, we will 

offer you a delicious bacon roll.

true Devonshire cream tea after which you can relax before heading into 

a delicious 3 course dinner in the Ballroom followed by live music tonight.

ahead of this evening’s activities. 

Join us for celebratory drinks in the Lounge Bar ahead of a fantastic 5 course 

gala dinner. Once tea and coffee has been served, our resident DJ will turn up 

the volume for a celebration to continue until the countdown begins. At the

A warm welcome awaits in the shape of a glass of mulled wine and home-made cake in the Lounge Bar from 3pm until 5pm. From 7pm, join 

us for a Champagne and canapés reception and enjoy seasonal carols being performed by the Youth Brass Band before heading into dinner. 

After dinner, why not relax and take in a film? We’ll be showing one of cinema’s all time seasonal classics with soft, comfortable seating, 

complimentary popcorn and waiting service! If it’s a weepy.. you supply the tissues! 


Enjoy a full and hearty Cornish breakfast served from 7am until 10am, after which you can enjoy a stroll along the sea front or take in a few of 

the local sights as you relax into your stay. Our traditional Christmas Day lunch is served from midday until 3pm. 

In the afternoon we will be showing (and re-showing for those who do not finish lunch in time!) the Queen’s speech – while serving our 

Head Chef’s delicious Christmas cake. The evening gets underway with a light buffet from 6.30pm for those with a little room spare, 

followed by in-house entertainment that’s both easy and enjoyable. 


Start Boxing Day with a delicious Cornish breakfast then enjoy the rest of the day your way. Choose from a walk along the beach, a spot of 

retail therapy a visit to Truro for the annual panto or just curl up in the Lounge Bar with a good book! 

A rolling buffet with a glass of Bucks Fizz will be served from midday until 2pm. Delicious home-made cake will be available in the bar throughout 

the afternoon, 3pm until 5pm and then a full choice, three course meal will be served from 6.30pm until 9pm. 

After dinner, you can dance the night away or just sit and enjoy the sounds of our great jazz duo.

It’s a sad farewell to you all after the festivities, but there’s no rush after your breakfast. Take the time to enjoy our facilities for the rest 

of the day.. enjoy a final dip in the pool or book a spa treatment, or if you can manage it, why not book a table for lunch!

Start the day the Cornish way with a wonderful, hearty breakfast, after which the day is yours to do as you please.. take a stroll across the 

bay.. meander into town.. relax at the spa or enjoy a dip in the heated, indoor pool. 

Activities such as games and quizzes will be laid on during the afternoon as will a delicious buffet. 

Our evening celebrations get underway from 7pm with a sparkling drinks reception. At 7.30pm our Piper will lead you into the Castle Beach 

Restaurant for a fabulous four course gala dinner, after which you can dance the night away to our live band and DJ, taking time, of course, 

to countdown to midnight and toast the New Year at which time you will have a front row seat for the spectacular fireworks display. 

New Year’s Day, Monday, 1st January 2018 

Enjoy a traditional Cornish breakfast to set you on your way home. Perhaps the children can enjoy a swim or a splash around in the indoor 

pool before you all head off home.

Relax after your journey with a delicious slice of traditional homemade Christmas cake and a glass of mulled wine or mulled local cider. 

Join us for a Champagne and canapé reception and enjoy the traditional sea shanty songs from the Cornish sea shanty group, The Press Gang. 

Afterwards, relax and enjoy a mouth-watering 4 course candlelit dinner in our 2 AA rosette, Spinnakers Restaurant. Hot chocolate and mince 

pies await those returning from Midnight Mass. 


Start Christmas Day with an authentic Cornish breakfast ahead of a truly relaxing day. Champagne and canapés will be served before a four 

course traditional Christmas Day lunch. Enjoy the Monarch’s speech followed by a festive quiz and Christmas cake. A light buffet will be served 

in the evening. 

We will be drawing the blinds, setting out the soft seating and settling down for a Christmas classic this evening in the Drawing Room. So why 

not curl up on the sofa, grab some popcorn, relax and watch one of the all time great films. We will even supply waiting service so you can 

watch uninterrupted! 


After a wonderful Cornish breakfast, relax at your leisure, the day is yours to do as you wish… or how about a guided tour around the local 

area? Head of the Fowey Tourist Information Centre, Lynne, will be our tour guide and has the inside knowledge on the town, surrounding 

area, its history and its characters. We’re sure you’ll be fascinated. 

Join us for laser clay pigeon shooting from the lower tea gardens from 2-4pm – all levels of expertise – or lack of it - will be welcome and all 

equipment will be provided. This evening, we have a four course dinner and dance for you to enjoy until the small hours. 

Wednesday, 27th December 2017 

Savour your final Cornish breakfast before you head back home. No homeward journey would be complete without a slice of Christmas 

cake, so we’ll make sure you’re well looked after! 

However, if you would like to extend your stay to include Twixmas, Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th December, we’d be 

delighted to have you stay with us. We have a special nightly rate of just £141.00 per room for dinner, bed and breakfast.

lounge in front of a welcoming fire. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. 

In the evening, we’ll be serving a four course candlelit dinner in our 2 AA 

rosette Spinnakers Restaurant. 


Start the day with a mouth-watering full Cornish breakfast after which you can 

as you wish… take a stroll, take in the sights, enjoy the Cornish coast in 

wintertime or just relax with a good read. 

During the afternoon we will be hosting a drinks masterclass with our Bar 

Manager in the Gin Lookout Bar. Sample your favourite tipple, expand your 

knowledge and your taste buds, you’re sure to enjoy the afternoon. 

The evening’s celebrations get underway with a Champagne and canapé 

reception followed by a five course gala dinner at 8pm with dancing to 

our live band until the early hours. Toast the New Year with a glass of fizz 

at midnight.

A Richardson Afternoon Tea will be waiting for you on arrival, served in the 

Brasserie from 2pm until 4pm. Settle in and relax before the evening’s 

entertainment. Enjoy a glass of fizz and canapés with the management team 

ahead of a mouth-watering 4 course dinner at 7pm. During the evening, we 

have the authentic sounds of the Padstow Christmas Carollers. For those 

returning from Mass, there will be mince pies and hot chocolate waiting. 


Begin Christmas Day with a hearty Cornish breakfast after which you can open 

your presents at your leisure and relax with Cornish Fairings biscuits and 

refreshments in the lounge. 

Enjoy our delicious 5 course traditional Christmas Lunch in The 2AA rosette 

Harbour Restaurant with wonderful views over the Camel Estuary and Padstow 

Harbour. Upholding with tradition, we will screen the Queen’s speech in the 

lounge. Christmas Day draws to a close with a wonderful buffet served from 

6.30pm until 8pm. 


Start your day with an authentic Cornish breakfast served in the restaurant then 

enjoy a relaxing morning in your own way and at lunchtime we will be serving 

a delicious hot and cold buffet in The Harbour Restaurant. 

During the afternoon we’ve games in the drawing room or you can choose to 

put your tastebuds to the test with an exclusive Cornish cheese and wine tasting. 

A relaxed drinks reception gets underway from 6.30pm, followed by a 4 course 

gala dinner at 7pm. After dinner enjoy the Metropole mastermind quiz or simply 

put your feet up for the rest of the evening.

indulge in a relaxing spa treatment after your journey (cost not included in the package). Enjoy a delicious 3 course dinner in our award 

winning, 2AA rosette, Harbour Restaurant this evening. 

New Year's Eve, Sunday 31st December 2017 

Full Cornish breakfast overlooking the Estuary and Padstow harbour will get your day o¬ff to a great start. We are joining forces with local 

beer and ale suppliers, Padstow Brewing Company, for a tasting of the local Cornish brews alongside a masterclass in how to make the 

perfect pasty. Our chefs will then cook the pasties which you can eat with the buffet lunch provided. 

As an alternative, and perhaps one for the ladies, our therapist will be offering mini manicures and party ready treatments between 

midday and 3pm. The cost of this is not included in the set New Year package price and reservations will have to be made in advance 

– a complementary glass of fizz will accompany your chosen treatment. 

Join the team and guests for our Champagne and canapé reception at 7pm followed by a lavish 5 course dinner served in the Harbour 

Restaurant, from 7.30pm. Music and dancing to lead you into the New Year follow. There will be a fun casino in the Lounge Bar where 

you can pretend to spend a fortune before raising a glass of Champagne to toast in the New Year. 

A spectacular fireworks display over the harbour takes place at midnight.

Take your time this morning after the night before, with a leisurely breakfast and a midday departure. 

But, why not stay a little longer? We’ve planned some very enticing rates for guests to extend their stay... just ask.

Prices are correct at time of going to print and unless stated otherwise are based on 2 people sharing. 

VAT is included at the standard rate and any gratuities are at the discretion of the customer. 

Insurance 

We recommend that guests consider taking out insurance cover, in the event of a cancellation.

Our food is produced in a kitchen that uses nuts, nut products, shellfish, fish, wheat, milk, eggs and soybean. 

Whilst we will do all we can to accommodate guests with food intolerances and allergies. We are unable to
