NR12 7HP Flat walk across farmland, tracks and minor roads Coltishall & Great Hautbois walk 3.8 miles – 80 mins 3.4 miles – 75 mins gradients For health & safety reasons, the front Walk Leader must head the walk & therefore walkers must stay level or behind the front leader. As all Walk Leader are individuals, the speed of walks will vary. It is advisable that you wear suitable clothing & footwear. 3rd Thursday of every month there is a Grade 1 walk available. Timing & Registration: If you are a new walker please arrive at least 20 minutes before the start time to compete the Walker Registration Form (WRF) this is an insurance requirement. Smoking is not permitted. Dogs are welcome on Aylsham & District walks, unless otherwise stated. . 4
The Good neighbour volunteers would like to wish all their clients a Happy New <strong>Year</strong>. Outings for 2017 We are busy planning our outings for 2017. We are hoping to have a summer trip on the Norfolk broads. Our outing planned for later in the year will to the Sheringham Little Theatre to see the pantomime ‘The wizard of oz’. This will include either lunch prior to the performance or tea after. If you are interested in joining us for either of these events please call 07799 277455. Tea Party Notes from Horstead with Stanninghall Parish Council – January Introduction Hello again. Going into the New <strong>Year</strong> I'm sure we're all looking forward to spring; and although it would have been tempting to hibernate over the winter period, the Parish Council has been busy preparing for the oncoming months. Please don't forget to check the Parish Council notice boards and website as they often contain information you may like to know about, which I can't include in these notes due to either timing or space. Planning HWSPC Minutes For December and January the Parish Council has considered four planning applications and has responded to Broadland District Council. 20162018 – Flint Cottage, Frettenham Road, Horstead, NR12 7LB – Erection of open cart shed in rear garden. The Parish Council raised NO OBJECTION to this planning permission. Application for premises licence to be granted under Licencing Act 2003 at Farm to Fork and Fish. The Parish Council had NO OBJECTION to this application. 20162090 – 98 Norwich Road, Horstead, NR12 7EQ - Single Storey Front and rear extensions. The Parish Council has raised concerns that the proposed rear extension will have a considerable negative impact on the light and solar gain currently experienced by a neighbouring property. 20162176 – Crostwick Kennels, Hall Lane, Horstead, NR12 7BB – Construction of new workshop/store. The Parish Council had NO OBJECTION to this application. Playing Field and the Trod Path Even during these colder months the playground continues to be well used. Our regular inspections are currently carried out fortnightly and will revert to weekly at Easter. The playground is due its annual inspection and we expect this to be carried out in the next couple of weeks, this will include a full inspection and Coltishall & Horstead Good Neighbours The next tea party will take place on Thursday 9 th March from 2 – 4pm at Coltishall village hall. There will be musical entertainment not to be missed! If you would like to join us and need transport please call the Good Neighbours on the above number. 5 re-tensioning of the zip wire cable. As a separate exercise the trees at the playground will also be surveyed, but this may need to wait until the trees are in leaf. There are some ash trees around the field that we need to monitor closely with regards to ash die back disease and we are aware the branches of some trees are too close to the play equipment. A full survey will allow us to arrange all necessary work. If you notice anything amiss at the playground, or have any concerns that may be relevant to the surveyors/inspectors, please contact me. Highways The obstruction at the entrance to the bridleway off Granny Bards Lane has been moved and hedges on either side have been cut back to allow horse and rider access. The obstruction has not been removed completely as it has been placed there to prevent vehicle access amid concerns over illegal raves. Blocked road drains along Hall Lane continue to give residents issues. Highways agree this is a problem and they will unblock them - I will continue to chase until this has been resolved. If you know of any other issues please let me know. War Memorial Historic England are looking to adopt our War Memorial. If adopted it will be added to the List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest, which brings specific protection so that its special interest can be properly considered in managing its future. This doesn’t affect our aim to clean and refurbish the War Memorial in the coming year. Neighbourhood Plan Thank you to everyone who returned their neighbourhood questionnaires, these have now been sent off to be analysed and when they are returned the results will be incorporated in the Neighbourhood Plan. The neighbourhood plan group meets on the last Wednesday of most months. To keep you informed of progress their minutes are on the Parish Council website and, when relevant, they submit articles to the Marlpit. They also have a Facebook page, and Ron would love to receive some 'likes' and messages. Parish Precept It was decided at the December Parish Council meeting that the Parish Precept for Horstead with Stanninghall will remain unchanged for the next financial year. Date and time of next meeting: Wednesday 8 th February at 6.15pm in the Hayloft in the Tithe Barn. The Good Neighbours would like to thank the Londis shop for donating 10% of the profit from there promotional items during October 2016. This will go towards future outings. Please continue to recycle your glass bottles, jars etc at the Red Lion recycling bin, the Good Neighbours benefit from this.
