Butternut
Havana (E30B.00114)
Havana is the largest of our butternuts. Tan fruits average 3-4 lbs. (1.3-1.8 kg). This variety is
uniform and extremely productive. Blocky fruits have a thick neck and a small seed cavity.
Flesh is intense orange and tasty. The plant is vigorous and semi-vining with some tolerance
to powdery Mildew. Havana has good post-harvest shelf-life, and ripens fairly early for its
size. Because of its strong plant habit and uniform maturity, we recommend this variety for
butternut growers in many locations throughout North America.
Uchiki Kuri
Bright Summer F1 (E30R.079) | new
In Vitalis trials throughout the USA and Canada, Bright Summer stood out as a winner across
the region! Individual serving sized, the kabocha-shaped fruits average 2.0-2.2 lbs. (0.9-1 kg)
with beautiful cream colored stripes against a red-orange background. Plants are very prolific
with intermediate resistance to the potyviruses and powdery Mildew tolerance, resulting in
exceptionally high yields and good storage potential.
Tiana
Tiana is a long-blocky slightly cylindrical shaped smaller butternut variety with an average fruit
size of 2.2-2.5 lbs. (1-1.2 kg) and fruit dimensions of 7x3 in. (18x8 cm). The yield potential of
Tiana is up to 50% higher than any open pollinated butternut. The fruit quality is very consistent
and the exterior skin color is an intense dark tan color.
Resistances: IR: ZYMV
Orange Summer
This first Enza Zaden Hokkaido hybrid has proven to produce higher yields of uniform fruits than
any other open pollinated Uchiki Kuri. The shape of the orange fruits is round pointed, larger
than our open pollinated Uchiki Kuri 2.64-3.5 lbs. (1.2- 1.6 kg) and produces more fruits per plant.
Orange Summer germinates easily and has a quick field emergence. Its bush type plants are
strong against Mildew.
Halloween
Bellatrix (E28H.00625) | new
Bellatrix produces a high yield of beautiful round pumpkins with brith orange color that are ideal
for carving. The 15-25 lbs. fruits have a very strong handle of ease of handling. This variety has
intermediate Mildew resistance. Because it’s very early, it typically requires fewer pesticide
applications and may be used for late sowings.
Resistances: IR: Px
