6 CHAIRMAN’S REPORT We needed to re-discover the basics of our faith and restore the wells our fathers dug for us David Oginde (PhD.), Rev Presiding Bishop Unblocking the Ancient Wells As we began the last leg of the CITAM ten year strategic plan (2007-2016), we knew that God had one last assignment for us: To Unblock the Ancient Wells. A well in the desert country of Palestine was a sign of wealth and independence. After Abraham died, the Philistines, driven by envy, blocked the wells which had been dug during Abraham’s time. But Isaac had to unblock his father’s wells, not so much because he needed water, but because he needed to restore his father’s heritage. Likewise, in CITAM we realized that with the passage of time, there were wells that had been blocked that needed to be unblocked. We needed to re-discover the basics of our faith and restore the wells our fathers dug for us. Thus throughout our ministry, we set about on the same. We praise God for the many wells unblocked and dug in 2015. The Well of Prayer We began the year with seven days of prayer and fasting that culminated in the Solemn Assembly. It was heartening to experience God’s great favor in response to prayer: diseases were healed; hearts were mended; courage was restored and hope renewed. No one but God can do this! The Well of Discipleship Our well of discipleship was unblocked as we witnessed tremendous spiritual growth of our members through The Safari. We completed the first stage: Enter and part one of the second stage: Encounter. Testimonies were shared of how people experienced God in a new way. The wealth of our spiritual growth was unblocked. No one but God can do this! Unexpected Wells It came as a surprise to us when the Commissioner for Domestic Taxes, Ms Alice Owuor, together with her team visited CITAM in October to recognize our Church for tax compliance. CITAM was one of the few medium tax payers selected for these unique visits by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), and one of only five personally visited by the Commissioner. Among the five; CITAM was the only religious organization nominated. It may seem a simple gesture, but this was truly a great honour, not only to CITAM, but also to the many other Christian and religious organizations that are equally faithful in giving ‘Caesar what belongs to Caesar’. No one but God can do this! CITAM Annual Report and Financial Statements | 2015

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT 7 The Well of Stewardship God has called us to be good stewards of the resources he has entrusted us. After reviewing the Moving the Ark initiative, we felt the need to expand its perimeters; hence the launch of the Together We Can Do More (TWM) initiative. TWM is a stewardship campaign aimed at mobilizing resources to help us extend our impact by building more sanctuaries; planting more churches; and supporting the destitute and the orphaned. Within the months of August – December 2015, we had set out to raise KES 50 million. But the Lord surprised us and we surpassed this target by almost 60% to raise KES 85 million in commitments. Indeed, Together We CAN DO MORE! And no one but God can do this! The Well of New Frontiers Our vision to see Kenya and the rest of the world impacted by the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit was duly rewarded in 2015. CITAM Romania CITAM Assembly was officially launched in Romania under the leadership of Pastor Walter Openda, after being granted registration and relevant permits by the government. The response has been simply amazing. CITAM USA CITAM USA transformed from a fellowship to a fullyfledged CITAM Assembly with Sunday services running every week! CITAM Alliance One of our core values is partnerships. In August, Talanta Ministries based in Machakos and headed by Pastors Joseph and Meggy Nzavi became the first CITAM Alliance Church under the CITAM Alliance initiative. CITAM Athi River We officially launched CITAM Athi River as the 13th CITAM assembly with Rev. Juliet Mahugu serving not only as the assembly senior pastor but also as our first female Senior Pastor. The assembly is growing fast with close to 1,000 people in attendance each Sunday. No one but God can do this! CITAM Kapsabet The Kapsabet mission church officially became a fully fledge CITAM Assembly under the oversight of CITAM Eldoret. The assembly is growing and we are in the process of looking for a larger space to accommodate the growing numbers. East Timor In spite of the great challenges believers face in East Timor, CITAM has continued to spread the Gospel in this Eastern frontier under the leadership of Pastor Joseph Ndungu. We thank God for the grace and strengthen He has granted. The Well of Academic Excellence We are committed to training our children in excellence. We praise God for the upward growth we continue to experience in our academies. CITAM Schools – Kisumu and Woodley registered notable performance with over 77% of the KCPE candidates scoring 350 marks and above. CITAM Kiserian Children Centre was likewise not left behind with a number of its candidates scoring up to 390 points. No one but God can do this! CITAM Annual Report and Financial Statements | 2015
