December was a month of highlights, foremost being the joint Teens Camp between CITAM Woodley and CITAM Ngong at Brookhurst International School. The theme was “TBT: Taking Back our Territory” drawn from the book of Joel 2:25 and Matthew 11:12. It was a time of fruitful ministry. The Teens and D-Timers (young adults) successfully completed Safari Encounter I and continue on the journey of discipleship. The Ex-candidates 2016 dubbed “Game Changers” commenced on a high note with 50 young people in attendance. The Young Professionals crowned the year with a time of fellowship, retreat and ministry in Dares Salaam with 44 YPs. This was a celebration of the fruitful time of ministry in 2015 through missions and outreaches within Nairobi and beyond. Mission and Outreach The outreach team conducted various evangelistic outreaches within our catchment area whereby a total of 167 people give their lives to Jesus. Outreaches outside Nairobi County took place on various locations as follows: 1. Lusengeli in April with 363 giving their lives to Christ; 2. Kargi in May with 50 giving their lives to Christ; 3. Kitale in December with 108 giving their lives to Christ; 4. Banyore in December with 18 giving their lives to Christ. In July, the team was involved in major outreach organized by African Evangelistic Enterprise (AEE) in Eldoret where 8,672 gave their lives to Christ. They ministered to five schools within the catchment areas and witnessed 192 students give their lives to Christ. In summary, during the year 2015, about 9,466 have been won to the Lord. Visitation Ministry The team was involved in 26 burials within and without Nairobi County out of which 19 souls have come to know the Lord. The team also visited more than 100 sick people both in hospitals and at their homes. During the time of celebration, the team has been with at least 30 members of the church as they express their thanks to the Lord. A total of 90 people came to personal faith in Jesus. CED We successfully launched and completed the Safari both Enter stage and Encounter 1 stage initially in cohorts and later at congregational level. The program was enthusiastically received by the congregation. Alongside the Safari we have other impacting programs such as CBR (Consistent Bible Reading Classes). A total of 21 brethren graduated in the 2015 class after an eight month long CBR and Scripture Meditation Program. A total of 56 completed the Discipleship program (up to Book 7 of the Navigators Discipleship Series) and have increased our pool of well discipled leaders to help boost our pool of workers as we continue to roll out CITAM Safari. 39 brethren went through the Doctrinal Class and graduated in November having received firm foundational teachings on the doctrines of the Christian faith and practice. 22 new growing together groups were formed making a total of 58 by the end of the year. In September, the Bible Study groups effectively partnered with the missions department to witness in their respective estates and a total of 161 decisions for Christ were recorded). 54 people graduated from the Leadership Development Program, which is geared towards equipping leaders for ministry in the church and the market place. Men’s and Women’s Ministry The men ministry started the year with the normal excursion to Mt Longonot where 170 men made it. 70 men went through ‘Man enough’ program and there were testimonies of great transformation that happened in this program. The women organized a Mother and Daughter breakfast event where communication between mothers and their daughter was discussed .This event was repeated due to public demand but CITAM Annual Report and Financial Statements | 2015
CITAM WOODLEY REPORT 47 this time in collaboration with the men’s ministry. The young women involvement in WM is notably increasing. To God be the glory. Music ministry Sunday worship experience has continued to be among the highlights in Woodley. Vibrant worship was enhanced with the introduction of at least 1-2 new songs per month .The team focused on having the children’s choir and teens worship team lead every quarter while the main church team taking a break. 10 weddings were celebrated in the team. Way forward The theme for 2016 is ‘Behold an open door’ Rev3:8. We look forward to experiencing God’s favor, power and transformation. We will be receiving a new 2,500 sitter together with chairs from China in the first quarter. The main congregation will relocate into the tent while the youth will use the multipurpose sanctuary as their place of worship. Later on in the year we begin resource mobilization for a mega sanctuary that will come with much needed facilities like prayer and counseling rooms, visitor’s parlor and multilevel underground parking.
