They also cleared and re-excavated sections of the drainages to ensure easy flow of storm water, then laid culverts over the open trenches. This helped create about two hundred (200) additional parking bays - we can now accommodate up to five hundred (500) vehicles within the facility at a time. Fellowship & Mentorship The Men, Women and Youth Fellowships experienced good growth during the year; the respective first fellowships of the year were well attended, leading to a number of new attendees during the year. Both the Men and Women fellowships held one separate and one joint mentorship sessions with the youth. Missions & Outreach A team of over seventy (70) members are actively involved in our Outreaches to Primary (PPI) and Secondary Schools. Currently, we are reaching out to over twenty five (25) Primary and Secondary Schools regularly. In April, a total of over sixty missioners including medics from our Assembly participated in a mission to Chuka in partnership with: Kirieni PCEA Church as the main host church, the County Government Medical Staff, and the ‘Beyond Zero” Campaign - who assisted in the ‘one day’ Medical Camp. A total of about 450 people gave their lives to the Lord. In December, a team of 60 missioners from the Crossroads Fellowship (i.e. the University & College Students Fellowship) went for a Youth Camp/Mission at the CITAM Archers Post Mission Station. Some of the activities carried out with the local people during this mission include: [i] Manyatta-to-Manyatta Evangelism; [ii] Christmas Cantata [iii] Worship Experience [iv] Showing the Passion of the Christ (with translation into Swahili). About 300 people from the local community were reached with 30 giving their life to Christ. During the Mission, various in-reach programs were conducted towards discipling and building up the Crossroaders in the faith, obedience and love for Jesus Christ. Great testimonies arose from this mission, many of which were shared in the Assembly and on Social Media. Prayer & Bible Study We began the year with a time of prayer and fasting and joined the rest of the CITAM fraternity during other such set times. During the first half of the year, we held a three day prayer and fasting retreat. 38 intercessors were in attendance. In the month of April, we also had three days of congregational prayer and fasting that was concluded with altar ministry and a Holy Spirit emphasis series - a number of people were baptized by the Holy Spirit for the first time and many experienced deliverance from oppression. From the onset of the year, we set out to enhancing the spiritual discipline of prayer, targeting 20% of our adult congregants attending various prayer fellowships which include [i] Sunday Morning Power Encounter Prayers; [ii] Sunday & Tuesday Intercessors Prayer Fellowships; [iii] Wednesday Prayer Service [iv] Friday end month First Watch Service; [v] Ministry Workers Prayer Gatherings; [vi] GT / Safari Group Prayer Gatherings – which grew from about fifty (50) to seventy (70) active groups. [vii] CITAM Joint Prayer Fellowships – where a team of approximately thirty (30) consistently engage in the prayers. Our considered estimate of the number of congregants who connect in prayer through these various fellowships and gatherings is approximately one thousand (1,000) people. Children’s Ministry The number of Children attending every Sunday swelled to the point where they can no longer be contained in the classrooms assigned to them; we have a ‘good problem’ on our hands that we are seeking to resolve! Over one thousand (1,000) children regularly attending our Sunday School. During the Daily Vacation Bible School held in mid- August, we hosted about 1,700 children. During the Children Prayer Day held in the first week of November, we hosted about three hundred (300) children from our Assembly, and an approximate one hundred (100) from the neighborhood – a total of one hundred (100) children gave their lives to Christ. We also hosted and graduated seventy (70) children who went through the Highlights of Passage Experiences program (HOPES). CITAM THIKA ROAD REPORT 41 DVBS 2015 are from the Ngomongo Informal Settlement that is within our neighborhood – who we sponsored these children through the program. Challenges We continue to experience challenges related to our facilities in two (2) ways. Firstly, our numbers far outstretch our capacity as evidenced by three (3) overflow tents during the Sunday Second Worship Service, and very large numbers in many Sunday school classes but no additional rooms. Secondly, our Church offices remain removed from the Church Sanctuary, which has the effect of disconnecting the congregation from their Pastors during working week days. Conclusion By the grace of God we continued to experience growth in various ways including receiving 15 – 20 visitors every Sunday. Of these visitors, over five hundred (500) people joined the Assembly during the course of the year.
