2015 REPORT FINAL1
8 CHAIRMAN’S REPORT Casting Our Eyes Ahead As we enter into a new year of ministry, it is yet another season for planning. Our current strategic plan has come to an end; coincidentally when God has given us the theme “Behold an Open Door” (Rev. 3:8). We believe God has even greater things for this ministry ahead. Our next ten year strategic plan (2016-2025) is themed: Building Capacity for Growth, Impact and Sustainability. We are trusting God to move CITAM from the current good to great performance. Thus our revised vision is to become: A Community of Believers Impacting the World with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through the transforming Power of the Holy Spirit. We have also synergized our core values to make them more memorable and inspiring: Excellence in Ministry; Functional Christian Families; Integrity in operations; and Strategic Partnerships. The Strategic Plan is focused on ten key pillars developed with two tenets in mind: impact and sustainability. An implementation matrix has been outlined to ensure our ministries remain buoyant and relevant in changing times. The challenge ahead demands a focused and systematic approach in pursuit of CITAM’s strategic goals. Thus the leadership renews its commitment to prayer as we endeavour to listen to what the Lord may be saying to us. Finally We are ever so grateful to all who work behind the scene to ensure CITAM is where God wants it to be. Special thanks to all the Trustees, Elders, Deacons, Staff, and Ministry Workers for serving the Lord with singleness of heart; to my wife Nancy for her tireless support and prayers in this demanding ministry; and to our members who have remained faithful even in turbulent times. God has an open door for each one of you. Even if it seems closed for now, remember that God never reneges on His Word. Remain faithful to Him; for He will remain faithful to you! CHURCH SECRETARY’S REPORT 9 CITAM has an opportunity to pass on relevant Christian messages to the Nation through HOPE Media with the view to strengthen the Christian witness in the Nation Nelson Kuria Church Secretary Introduction This report is a review of the year 2015 and the amazing grace that we as a Church enjoyed as we unblocked our ancient walls. The report also highlights certain governance and policy issues. Deacon Board Meetings The Deacon Board held seven meetings as scheduled with an average attendance of 99%. New Deacons were taken through an orientation program which was successful. We also initiated The Conclave which is a fellowship that brings together the Deacon Board; The Elders Council and the Senior Pastors. The Conclave was instrumental in the review of the just concluded Strategic Plan and the development of the next 10 year Strategic Plan (2016-2025). The Deacon Board has been seeking to increase efficiency in terms of reporting through various sub committees and especially in the area of submitting briefs/updates. These reports were presented to the Deacon Board for consideration. Major Projects Undertaken by The Deacon Board: The CITAM Strategic Plan As mentioned earlier, our ten year Strategic Plan has come to an end. We therefore set up teams to review and develop the next 10 year Strategic Plan (2016- 2025) under the leadership of Bishop David Oginde and Deputy Bishop Ken Kimiywe. This new plan represents new energy, focus and vision injected in the ministry. The new plan proposes to position CITAM as the Church for now and in the future and has taken into cognisance the rapidly changing landscape and technologies including revamping ideas that may have stagnated due to the nature of emerging issues. CITAM Ngong Construction We experienced challenges with the construction of CITAM Ngong that saw us halt this project. However, through prayer and review, we were able to pick up this project and I can now confidently report that we are right on course. We believe we shall enter the new Sanctuary within the timelines given. New Church Plants We officially launched CITAM USA in April 2015 with Pastor Jean Bosco formerly of CITAM Ngong, serving as the Senior Pastor. He is being assisted by a consultant Pastor Rev. Tom Bartlet. We scouted the land in Namibia and we can report that the harvest CITAM Annual Report and Financial Statements | 2015
