He also explained the concept of second Eid in<br />

Islamic calendar that is called Eid-ul-Adhia (Eid<br />

of Sacrifice) which follows the Hajj (Pilgrimage).<br />

Hajj is one of fundamental pillar of Islam that is<br />

performed at Kaaba’ in the city of Mecca. Hajj<br />

promotes equality, brotherhood amongst the<br />

Muslims as all men dress up in same clothing. A<br />

king and a beggar are both dressed up in the same<br />

way and performing the pilgrimage side by side.<br />

At the end of pilgrimage, Eid is celebrated and<br />

sacrifice of an animal is made.<br />

His lecture was followed by question and answer<br />

session.<br />

One gentleman asked a question about the<br />

hardships of fasting and if someone struggles with<br />

the work or day to day routine then what is the<br />

concession for such person?<br />

Imam Sahib explained the exemptions provided to<br />

those who fall under certain categories such as<br />

children, old people, sick, pregnant women,<br />

feeding mothers and those who are travelling.<br />

A second question was asked about the<br />

involvement of Muslims in birthday parties and if<br />

there are any restrictions on them religiously or<br />

culturally?<br />

In his reply, Imam Sahib elaborated the purpose of<br />

birthdays and reality of getting older behind it. He<br />

explained that Islam teaches to be grateful and<br />

thankful to the creator on each occasions.<br />
