Since the service life of a facility is long,<br />

Therefore the specified product should<br />
be approved for the widest range of<br />

HIT-RE 500 V3 delivers higher bond<br />
strength and an even wider range of<br />
approved applications. It is the only<br />
slow cure product in the market<br />
approved for all loading conditions by<br />
means of static, quasi-static, seismic<br />
and fatigue loading. HIT-RE 500 V3<br />
also covers fire with an exposure time<br />

HIT-RE 500 V3 delivers highest bond<br />
strength values under nearly all conditions.<br />
However, according to Eurocode 2 (EC2),<br />
the utilizable design bond strength is<br />
limited to the performance of cast-in bars.<br />
Research has shown that the bond<br />
strength of post-installed bars anchored<br />
with HIT-RE 500 V3 is markedly higher<br />
than that of cast-in place. The Hilti HIT<br />
Rebar design Method is following the EC2<br />
design steps but using an increased bond<br />
strength in order to reduce the anchorage<br />
length significantly providing feasible and<br />
economical solutions otherwise not<br />
possible. The confidence shown to this<br />
method is representing by a usage of 40%<br />
of our total customers.<br />

Simply speaking post-installed rebar<br />
connections loaded with a bending<br />
moment are in general solved with cast-in<br />
bent rebars according to EC2/TR023.<br />
When designers asked for a reliable<br />
solution using post-installed straight bars,<br />
we react. Together with the Technical<br />
University of Munich and the American<br />
University of Beirut, Hilti developed an<br />
adequate strut and tie model that takes the<br />
specific characteristics of frame node<br />
connections with straight bars into<br />
account. The method was published in<br />
several national and international scientific<br />
journals and is more than accepted in the<br />
designer community.<br />
